It’s Saturday! Are you ready to go on a Threadventure with me? It’s week 41 of my stitch journal for 2026. This week, let’s stitch a spider web. Using a thin metallic thread (I used a silver Cosmo that I found in my stash) and a Chenille 24 needle, Couch the web by first starting with 5 spokes radiating from the hat. Then finish the web with gentle curves inside. I sketched a web for you on last week’s PDF template in case you need a good visual of how to stitch it.
Find some interesting cotton overlay fabric to stitch on your page. I used a scrap from the Ghastly fabric line since I am a cat lady! I have a black feral-not-feral barn cat named Salem. I am exclusively her human and she sometimes gives me “the look” that you see on the fabric. LOL! Black cats are simply the best!
I also stitched a ribbon flower on my hat. (Yes, apparently I really liked this ribbon because I used in on week 20 - LOL!). You can use the same or a button or some other applique technique on your hat too. Stitch it to the side. We want to leave some room for embellishing our hat…hint-hint.
