50 Years of Quality Glass Block: Ghost Stories from the Warehouse

Fifty years in business means a lot of stories. Some are about great projects and great customers. Others are a little harder to explain.

Our warehouse in Morris, Illinois sits near an old cemetery and the historic Illinois and Michigan Canal. After dark, our team has seen a few things they cannot explain:

The visitor from the 1800s: Toni saw a man in 1800s clothing walk away from her and vanish into the warehouse. Ray once watched a figure he thought was Chris walk out the front door. Chris was in the office on the phone the whole time.
The changing playlist: Late one night, the music on the iPad Chris was using switched songs on its own. No one was near it.
Orbs of light: Around 2 a.m., Chris saw three glowing orbs drift off the mezzanine. They vanished when he got close.
The sash saw blades: The air lines had been off for two days. Then the saw blades rose on their own and the air turned cold.

Now Chris has one rule. He stays out of the shop between 2 and 3 a.m. unless the alarm goes off.

Spooky season calls for a glowing glass craft block.

Each glass craft block has an opening at the top. Fill it with lights and decor to make a Halloween piece that glows all night. Here are five easy ideas:

Pumpkin Lantern: Fill it with orange fairy lights. Add a jack o lantern face with black vinyl.
Ghostly Glow: Fill it with white fairy lights. Add a ghost face with black vinyl or paint.
Creepy Crawly Block: Fill it with faux spiders and black shred. Drape fake webs over the top.
Witches Brew: Fill it with purple and green lights. Tie a black ribbon around it.
Bat Block: Fill it with purple lights. Add black vinyl bats across the front.

Pro tip: Group three blocks on your porch, mantel or table for a bold display.
