What a wonderful past 24 hours it has been over here in my little corner of the sewing world! ✨
But full transparency - I am a mom of three who sews upstairs at her sewing table while her kids nap, play behind me or do their homework next to me. But the fact that so many of us share the human experience of wanting to preserve special life memories into something like a quilted heirloom, means the absolute world to me. Thank you for all of the kind words and for connecting with my art and my style.
I am, in real time, trying to figure out how to preserve the slow nature of quilting while also honoring that there is an opportunity to put more quilts out in the world and gift others a piece of art that would otherwise stay in a box in the attic. I am in the process of learning that quilting is meant to be slow, intentional, and rooted in presence, AND also that there are more stories waiting to be stitched together than I can personally make overnight.
So for now, I will be growing gently. I hope to stay rooted in the “why” that I started—while also making space for this beautiful, wonderful increase in demand. Because at the end of the day, I don’t want to rush and just make quilts - I want to create heirlooms for families to enjoy for years and years to come.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for being here. More updates to come soon, I promise. 🫶🏼🤍 - Rachael
