✨ A little light with a lot of history. ✨
Fairy lamps first became popular during the Victorian era as a safer, softer way to light the home. These small glass lamps held a candle beneath a domed shade, creating a warm glow while helping protect the flame from drafts.
In 1885, English candle maker Samuel Clarke patented his famous “Fairy” lamp design, and the name soon became associated with these charming little lights. They were used in nurseries, hallways, sickrooms, and on dinner tables, and were produced in countless beautiful colors and patterns. Their popularity eventually spread from England to the United States, and today they’re beloved by collectors all over again.
There’s just something magical about the glow of a fairy lamp. 🕯️✨
