🚂 On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, railfans will be flocking to Huntingdon County to witness the legendary Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, as it travels through our area as part of the nationwide America250 celebration. 🇺🇸
While you're waiting for Big Boy 🚂 to arrive, take advantage of a rare opportunity to step behind the scenes at one of the Swigart Museum's storage garages 🚗 along Allegheny Street in Huntingdon—directly across from Hunt Tower / Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce.

Visitors will have the chance to:
✅ Explore the lower level of one of the Swigart Museum's vehicle storage garages
✅ See fascinating vehicles in the museums collection
✅ Get a behind-the-scenes look at museum storage and preservation efforts
🚂 Please Note: We will temporarily close the garage when Big Boy is approaching Huntingdon and reopen after the train passes so visitors can safely enjoy both experiences.
🕑 Big Boy is expected to pass through the Huntingdon area around 2:25–2:26 PM, though times are subject to change.
