New in the shop is this beautiful collection of 12 framed hand colored stippled engravings of Les Roses by P.J. Redoute, Octavo Edition, 1824. Redoute was one of the best known botanical illustrators of his time who counted Marie Antoinette as a pupil and Empress Josephine as a patron. Dimensions measure 11.75” x 14.75”. 🐘 Larger framed animals:
Bilderbuch für Kinder (published 1792-1810) by Friedrich Justin Bertuch (1747–1822). It was a picture book encyclopedia designed for children. Each framed, hand-colored engraving is 16.5” x 14.5”. $245 each.

🐅 Smaller framed wild cats:
The Naturalist’s Library by Sir William Jardine (c. 1840s). Jardine edited the series, commissioning experts to write the 40 volumes of mammals, birds, insects and fish that comprised the series. Frames are 15.5” x 12.5”. $165 each.
