Recently, during a cold spell, I had the chance to wear my nettle shawl. This piece is crafted from hand-spun nettle fiber and meticulously hand-knitted, showcasing a complicated diamond pattern. Although I didn't make the shawl myself—I acquired it years ago while traveling—its craftsmanship is something I truly aspire to achieve.

I've been playing with this first generation Sway TPSea Flex™, a flexible film made with seaweed. About one‑third of the film content is seaweed, with the remaining components made up of other plant‑based and certified compostable materials. The material is meant to be home compostable and currently shaped for fashion retailing packaging.

Any ideas for use with yarn and fibers other than packaging?

A look at some new packaging materials - bags and ties. I've moved the paper I print on to plant-based (sugarcane) but I'm looking for ways to move to other plant-based materials for all the bags, ties and labels I use in my business. These bags and ties made from plants and other regenerative bio materials are an option.

I had an hour this morning to be outside and work on hackling this really nice USA grown h**p fiber. The stalks were field retted for 3 years and the fiber just falls off the hurd with very little effort. This h**p strain is a Futura and now one of my favorites. I've located a farmer the next state over that will be planting this variety this year. I have plenty at the moment and hope to continue to have this variety available in the future.

I needed to dye some materials a light blue for a project. To exhaust the dyes, I put in skeins of Jute, Pineapple/Cotton, Cotton/H**p and H**p. The plant fibers each took the color a bit different. **pyarn
