These live edge oak tree “cookies” were cut on a family farm about 15 years ago. The family contacted us and gave us the opportunity and artistic freedom to create these unique side tables. We filled these 101 year old tops with epoxy, sanded them slick, and finished them with and wax. And per usual, blew it out of the water with these bases! We love it when we’re able to take a piece of family history and create something that will last for years to come. 👊🏼

TOP SHELF! A bourbon bar built for a duck hunter. After meeting with our customer we knew we wanted to incorporate the love of duck hunting with his love of bourbon into this bar. We created a custom epoxy color to fill the holes in the Kentucky swamp cypress and called it “mallard green.” We added flakes of purple mica powder so when the light hits it just right you get that purple sheen you see from a mallards head. The bungs were etched with sitting ducks and flying ducks and filled with the same green epoxy. The corner of the bar was “stitched” together with a handful of waterfowl shotgun shells. Hanging on the wall is a shelf to display his best bottles. It’s made from reclaimed sweet gum and framed in custom engraved bourbon barrel heads with double H’s to represent the name given to their new home, The Heskett Homestead. The bar itself is supported by two authentic bourbon barrels, one from Heaven Hill Distillery and the other from Barton 1792 Distillery. The base is trimmed out in bourbon barrel staves, hickory to***co sticks, and skipped planed oak, sourced from a local to***co barn that is over 100 years old. Like a good bourbon, the wood we used has aged over time and gives this bar loads of character. Thanks to Lauren and Adam for giving us the opportunity to build this for their new home. It’s one of a kind and we hope they make many memories around it for years to come!
