Back to these arched doors 👉

Here's how I used the trammel on my palm router to cut the arches. This is the outside arch being cut, next up: the inside arch!!

The vanity case is looking great!

This is it mocked up and getting prepped for final glue up. Check back after we finish up these arched doors and drawer fronts to see how the case comes together. 🫶

Sometimes you have a plan and sometimes those plans go awry.

Thought I was going to be able to use a template and a pattern bit on these arch top doors.

Not gonna work!! Here's how I'm going to do it instead. 😹

After I milled the stiles and rails it was time to dry assemble this component of the vanity.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I put something together and then take it apart during these builds. I think that's one of the biggest parts of fine woodworking; how much patience do you have to be willing to put something together and then take it apart instead of putting it together once and being done with it?

P.S. check out yet another template on these doors. This gives you a sneak peak of the arches!!! 🖖

With the vanity case dry assembled it's time to mill some mahogany for the 2 arch top doors and the lower drawer fronts.

This is how I mill the pieces. I make stile and rail (cope and stick, call it what you will) doors and drawer fronts. I like the strength in this type of construction and the ease of assembly.

Make square cuts - make square doors!!!! 🤘

Once the panels were ready for use it was time for a dry fit.

I reinforced all of the joints with 3/8 oak dowels. These strengthened the joints and assisted with alignement during assembly. The split panels needed to be perfectly in line with each other and alignment dowels were the answer to that problem.

It was a good day. One of those days when you get excited about a project. This one turned out exactly as designed and architectural details really came together beautifully. 🫶

What do you think???

If you're purchasing custom wooden cabinetry and they don't show you the grain match, that's because there isn't any!

Custom built work is all about these one of a kind details, this is what you pay for and what makes it stand out.

Looking for cabinetry with details like this one here, DM us today and let us know how we can help. 🫶

And just like that these panels are complete and ready to use for the vanity case.

I think the grain on these panels is definitely something special, what do you think?

Coming up this week I'll show you how that case came together, it turned into something really spectacular.

Notice the arch detail? This is what it looks like all finished up! 🫵

Time to start assembling these panels for use.

In this video we're cutting the final shape and prepping the lower half of the panels for glue up with the legs.

Check back all weekend to see how this turns out, may not look like much yet but by the end of this weekend I promise this will all start to look like something and make sense!! 🫶
