We try to celebrate daily with a DIY reuse spirit by saving items from filling the landfill. Some might consider it trash but we consider it treasure and bring those items into our shop for you.

Not all that wander are lost. Or vintage. We met the owner of this beauty and he let us take her out on a test drive along the avenue of the giants.

While exploring the world of Japanese craftsmanship, I developed an interest in vintage Kokeshi dolls. So, imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon two of them at an estate sale in Arizona!

These handcrafted wooden figures originated in the Tōhoku region during the late Edo period (1603–1868) and were initially created by kijishi—artisans skilled in woodturning. They repurposed leftover wood from crafting household items like bowls and trays to make these dolls, embodying the Japanese principle of mottainai, which emphasizes minimizing waste, like we try to do with our creative projects.

They're currently available in our shop, but I might just change my mind and keep them for my collection. If you're interested, let me know so I can share them with you!
