It has been so long!

We are in the midst of a season of so much change in the Bond household, but it’s all good things and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Change often brings uncertainty.. and uncertainty makes me very uncomfortable and anxious. I like to know a full plan and I like to know backups to said plan. 

But when it comes to faith, we are not expected to know the whole plan. We are supposed to trust to follow Him ONE step at a time.. so in a season of great change, I’m leaning in and reminding myself daily that whatever plan He has for us, whether it is the plan we had or not - that it’s a good plan because God is the creator and we are called to follow Him… and this God of ours has such a deep love for us and understanding of all things past, present and future that we will never truly understand.. so I’m grateful that I don’t know all the steps because I’m sure I would mess it up haha. My God has got me… and He’s got you 🤍

Ps- the last clip cracks me up. The bread came out of the oven minutes ago, and I was ready to have it with my eggs. I absolutely love everything about making and baking bread but cutting it is for the birds - my slicer does a great job.😂

A fun bake day that consists of:
-sourdough: pumpernickel and regular
-bagels

Fun facts on pumpernickel bread:
- originated in Germany
- “farting goblin” : the name pumpernickel is widely believed to come from the combination of the German words pumpern (to break wind) and Nickel (a nickname for a goblin or devil)
-originally made with sourdough in Germany and would cook on low for over 24 hrs, which yields a sweeter more caramelized flavor. Modern methods use cocoa, molasses and coffee to give the flavor without the length of cooking time
-originally made with coarse rye flour and rye berries. My recipe uses a blend of rye flour and bread flour. It’s still a hearty and pretty dense bread (as you can see comparing the white loaf to the dark), but has a greater rise then its origins

Peach maple sourdough scones 🍑🍁

We’ve had a surplus of local peaches that needed to go to good use.

 I’ve been wanting to try out scones for a while and thought why not with my discard and peaches?

The maple and cinnamon is bringing fall feels. With this heat right now I’m welcoming fall 🫠

Pesto mozzarella pull apart bread 🧀🍞🌿

This beauty was a birthday request from my sister in law!

A buttery yeast bread cut into 12 slices, padded with mozzarella and pesto, folded up the slices and stacked into a loaf, baked to crispy perfection, and doused in a roasted garlic melted butter when done.

Healthy? Nope. Delicious? 💯
