Morning class set up... A quick behind the scenes look at getting ready for a larger class. This was a private group of ladies and I thoroughly enjoyed hosting them at the class. They kept me on my toes!

Not shown in the video, but we set up a sandwich station, muffins, water and coffee for them.

All of our private classes are extremely customizable. Each person added their own personality into their pieces. I had about half of the group decide on coasters because they knew they could travel easier with them. The bathboard was a request and turned out beautiful. That item we will be shipping straight to her house.

I forgot to get pictures of their finished products🙄

They requested that I hand deliver the finished items to their hotel the next day.

I love meeting new people in this setting and we love offering a new art medium for groups to experience together!

That one time...we were commissioned to build a table and the clients inspo pictures they showed us were definitely AI.

Of course we said, "yeah we can do that."

After joining the wood, we carved out a large section to then start the epoxy work.

The wood grain is gorgeous so it was difficult to paint over it. However, to achieve the results the client originally showed us, we had to paint first so that the wood grain would not influence the overall color.

All the paint colors were blended and customized by us.

This will act as a base layer for the ocean and beach. We had to be careful and blend as much as possible to achieve the colors the client wanted.

We didn't get video of the sand and shells application but that had to be set and cured first before the first layer of waves were applied.

First layer is done....we did add some color to the epoxy in a normal ocean gradient.

Now for pour number 2. At this point you just have to trust the process. The only difficulty in this specific project is that it was perfectly level. When I'm doing large areas of ocean waves, I like it to be tilted just slightly so that it flows in the right direction. On this one, I couldn't tilt it at all. So that was definitely tricky

We made it work and this is the last wave pour before the final deep pour will go in and level it all out.

The client opted for a flood pour over the entire table which I think actually works best on a table that is mostly ocean.

We are usually given some creative expression with pieces like this but it is always a little nerve wracking not knowing if the end result will be what they envisioned.

Fortunately we always seem to have amazing clients and they absolutely loved their table. I think they might have even cried when they saw it. 🥹

So thrilled to see this unique build in its new home! Awesome family and a beautiful home.

This type of table is definitely one that you remember building and has a story. It isn't your typical coffee table, it's functional art.
