I found this amazing piece of a shell at Huntington Beach. Sometimes I get the perfect inspiration as soon as I pick them up. I immediately know what the shell wants to be. Can you guess what this one is?

One of the best parts of my art is collecting supplies. Check out this beauty that was just calling my name at Holden Beach today. If you've never been to the beach in the winter, I highly suggest you go. The shelling is amazing and it feels like you're the only person in the world.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. My name is Monique and I am the artist behind all the work you see here. My family and I live happily in the Carolinas and I LOVE the ocean! I love the sound of the waves. I love the feel of the salt spray on my face. I love walking the beach and picking up "treasures" in the form of shells. I'm lucky enough to have 3 children still at home that love the ocean almost as much as I do and we often spend hours and hours looking for just the right shells. Each piece of art you see is made from those shells we picked up by hand along the beaches of the Carolinas. I hope you really enjoy it.
