Every curve, texture, and finish in this living room was chosen to bring the feeling of Chicago at dusk indoors.

The sculptural silhouettes of the Vladimir Kagan Serpentine sofas and Holly Hunt Sumo chairs soften the architecture, while handcrafted plaster wallcovering and Eramosa stone add depth and dimension. Rich reds, deep indigos, and smoky grays echo the city beyond the windows, creating a space that feels as striking as the skyline itself.

If your designer and builder aren’t aligned, the client feels it.

One of the things we appreciate most about working with Power Construction is their willingness to take a design idea and figure out how to make it happen. From custom metal-wrapped floating shelves to integrated LED lighting that grazes the plaster wallcovering, no detail was too small and no idea was met with a “no.”

When your designer and builder share the same commitment to craftsmanship, communication, and client experience, the possibilities are endless. That’s how great design comes to life.

There’s nothing quite like Chicago at golden hour.

As the sun settles over the city and Lake Michigan, the sunset glow becomes part of the design, reflecting across layered textures, deep indigos, rich reds, warm neutrals, and sculptural forms throughout this St. Regis Chicago residence.

Designed to celebrate the city, the views, and the way this family lives.

This is not just construction. This is construction 60 floors in the air.

Renovating a luxury residence in a high-rise comes with an entirely different set of challenges—from strict building hours and logistics to coordinating with the building and finding efficient ways to keep the project moving. For this St. Regis Chicago residence, Power Construction helped make the process seamless, completing the renovation in just 10 weeks.

Great design takes more than a beautiful vision. It takes the right team to execute it.

Designed to feel like an extension of the living space, this St. Regis Chicago kitchen balances clean architectural lines with warm, inviting moments for gathering.

A custom banquette and seating area create relaxed spots for coffee, conversation, and everyday family life, while floating shelves wrapped in metal and integrated LED lighting bring a refined layer of detail. The custom-fabricated rug is precisely cut around the architectural column, softening the geometry of the space.

The best luxury details are the ones you may never notice, but you absolutely feel.

In this St. Regis Chicago residence, creating a seamless finish meant thinking through everything behind the scenes, from opening the ceiling to integrate lighting and motorized shades to carefully planning the placement of every panel of wallcovering in the kids’ room.

It’s the kind of craftsmanship that disappears into the finished space, and that’s exactly the point. Great design is in the details, and even more so in how those details are executed.

Inspired by the deep indigos, smoky grays, warm ambers, and reflective glow of the Chicago skyline as evening settles over Lake Michigan, this living room brings the feeling of the city at dusk indoors.

A Vladimir Kagan Serpentine sofa anchors the space alongside playful Holly Hunt Sumo chairs, while handcrafted plaster wallcovering and vein-cut Eramosa stone add layers of texture and dimension, all framed by sweeping views of Chicago.

A few favorite moments from Design Chicago 2026.

From seeing our work featured in the new Phillip Jeffries Walls book, to discovering new products and beautiful embellished wallcoverings, to cheering on friends who took the stage—it was a day full of inspiration.

Most of all, we loved spending the day together as a team, getting immersed in the latest ideas, materials, and conversations shaping the world of design.

A very good day to be surrounded by people who love design as much as we do.

“Surprise. We bought this beautiful skyline view place. Can you figure it out?”

That’s how this project started.

Our clients were already working with us on their new construction home when they surprised us with a second project: a St. Regis Chicago residence they wanted to transform into their own city getaway.

What started as a beautiful white box in the sky became a home layered with personality, warmth, and thoughtful details designed around how this family wants to live—from bringing the kids to the pool and walking to Maggie Daley Park to gathering together and taking in those incredible city views.

Watch Lauren and Power Construction share the story behind Skyline Retreat at the St. Regis Chicago.
