When your neighbors become your clients. 🧔

I’m so proud—and genuinely touched—that my friends and neighbors, Mala and Jason, asked me to help reimagine their guest bedroom into a true guest retreat.

The goal: serene, warm and sophisticated, with a collected feeling that doesn’t look overly decorated or brand new. We’re layering deeper blues with warm woods, natural textures, creamy neutrals and just enough pattern to give the room some history and personality.

And because beautiful rooms don’t have to happen all at once, we’re approaching this one thoughtfully—working with pieces they already own, identifying where an investment will make the biggest difference, and allowing the room to evolve over time.

This is the part of Orange Hare Interiors I love so much: helping people see the possibilities already waiting inside their homes.

Thank you, Mala + Jason, for trusting me with yours. 🧔

Find of the Week.

Although, technically, this one has been a few weeks in the making.

I found this Italian burlwood pedestal cabinet here in Nashville at Gas Lamp Too Antique Mall and have been visiting it for the past couple of months. I’d look at it, open it, admire that incredible papered interior…and then somehow manage to leave without it.

Until this week.

Orange Hare Interiors hit 100 followers, and I decided that was reason enough to finally stop visiting and bring it home.

Italian burlwood, the original key still included, and that completely unexpected floral interior.

Some finds are worth going back for… and friends, thank you for being the reason i wanted to celebrate.

Baby of Mine.

I’ve been dreaming about nurseries for a very long time.

Long before Orange Hare Interiors had a name, I was designing rooms for my daughters—spaces inspired by the stories I loved as a child and brought to life with the help of my mother, who sewed draperies and bedding by hand.

Today, those little girls are grown and have long since flown the nest. Looking back, I realize those rooms were never really about wallpaper or fabric or finding just the right shade of paint.

They were about creating a beautiful beginning.

And perhaps that’s why I’ve always believed the rooms we remember most are the ones created with love.

For your inspiration.

Most draperies are hung too low.

The good news? It's one of the easiest mistakes to fix.

In this first edition of Designer's Notes, I'm sharing two decisions that can completely change how your draperies—and your room—feel.

Swipe through, save for later, and share with a friend who's planning window treatments.

And remember—always... hang 'em high.

Part 2 coming soon. šŸ§”šŸ‡

A year ago, before packing up our old home, I paused to photograph one of our bookshelves.

At the time, I thought I was capturing a collection.

Now I realize I was capturing a chapter.

These books had lived with our family for years, quietly bearing witness to celebrations, conversations, traditions, and everyday moments that often become the memories we cherish most.

More than a year into our new home, they have found their place here too.

As I continue refining our spaces, I'm reminded of something I believe deeply: the most meaningful homes aren't built from all-new furnishings and accessories. They're layered with pieces that carry history, memory, and meaning.

That's also how I approach decorating.

Whether it's a collection of books, a beloved chair, family artwork, or an antique passed down through generations, the goal isn't to start over. It's to thoughtfully weave those pieces into the next chapter of your home.

Because beautiful rooms are about more than how they look.

They're about the life that's lived within them.

One of my favorite things about decorating is creating spaces that give people a reason to gather.

This room began with a simple idea: a dedicated place for Mahjong, conversation, laughter, and a little friendly competition.

Rich auburn walls, chinoiserie-inspired details, tortoise accents, emerald greens, lacquer finishes, and a touch of coral create a space that feels collected, layered, and inviting.

A room designed not just to be beautiful—but to be lived in.

What detail would you take away for your own home?
