She often works in materials like reclaimed woods, hand-tufted wool, and heirloom furniture paired with locally made, custom furniture, organic and sculptural in design. One of the sustainable homes designed by Marcelle and her architect husband, David Baird, is featured in the book Shades of Green, Tennessee. Marcelle surrounds herself with a talented team of artisans, and often collaborates with her architect husband, the lead designer for the Country Music Hall of Fame and the winner of several international and national awards for architecture and product design. Earlier in her career, Marcelle worked for one of the world’s leading architecture firms. She was part of an award-winning team, whose spa-like heathcare design was published nationwide.
