On Saturday 7/29/2023 we had the honor of hosting Jim Linnell here at Tandy Leather Store #131 for a full day of workshops – 8 hours in total.

The first workshop ran from 8 am – 12 pm, and the topic of the workshop was “Swivel Knife Finesse”. This workshop hit all the high points of making a swivel knife work at its peak. Several exercises included: Tips for improving flow and skill, free hand scroll decoration, and creating challenging designs for the more experienced people in the class.

The second workshop ran from 1 pm – 5 pm, and the topic of the workshop was “Modelling Spoon Finesse”. This workshop included a tracing pattern of a snarling wolf, and the students were taught – step by step – how to create a beautiful piece of leather art featuring the wolf using nothing more than a swivel knife and different sizes of modeling spoons.

The Tandy Leather south zone is having an ugly sweater contest! Check out the rules below and ensure you enter between December 15th and 30th. The winner will receive a free class voucher!

Rules:
1.) Customers must come into their local Tandy store and post their Ugly Sweater online using the hashtag
2.) Customers must notify the store manager via email with a picture of their Ugly Sweater in-store.
3.) The winner will receive one free class voucher for any course that their local store is hosting.
4.) Contest end on 12/30/2022

Happy Monday! We will be having a costume contest from August 22nd to October 1st. All the rules and information can be found below. We look forward to seeing your submissions!

- Costumes must be handmade and created with at least 50- 60% of Tandy Leather products.
- Customers must post their costume online using the hashtags and
- Notify the store manager with a picture of their leather costume.
- The customer can enter more than once using different costumes.

Prize: $100 Tandy Leather Gift card.
