🩵Sweet Annie🩵

It’s been awhile since we’ve been active on this page, but this one was worth a post.

This past season was the first time we didn’t host RISE’s Christmas Party, since closing the store. It’s safe to say we certainly miss our dear customers and even just in our short season being open, we’ve lost a few good ones who have gained their angel wings.

This past week the community has come together to remember a sweet soul who is no longer with us. Miss Strickling, known by our family as “Sweet Annie”, was a true gem. We’ve prayed hard for her family, friends, RISE Elementary teachers and students, and those who were close with her this week.

I am Mr. Dowell’s only daughter, but over the years he’s gained daughter-in-law’s, and a couple of “school daughters” while in his teaching career, all whom I’m honored to share the best dad with. Sweet Annie was one of those school daughters🩵 This week has been especially tough on Mr. Dowell. Please join us in praying for comfort over Annie’s family and the RISE staff as they show up tomorrow for one of their own. And most importantly, keep all those kiddos who loved their Miss Strickling in your daily prayers as they finish out the school year without her.

This scripture teaches that the heart is the control center for life. Sweet Annie’s life was certainly a reflection of her heart.❤️el

We set up a mock booth to get ready for the Neosho Fall Festival this Saturday!! We’ve added some new brands and items, and have some of your old favorites too!❤️ We’ve got all the fun seasonal things, so be sure to stop by, say hi and browse our booth! We will be located on Spring Street in front of the new Rise playground!!(So you’ll know where to find Mr. Dowell😉😅)

We know we’ve been a little silent on our end recently as we are still working on what’s next for The Oxbow Market, BUT!, you can find us next Saturday down on the Neosho Square for the annual Fall Festival! We will have all of your favorite things!! Stay tuned as I post this week at all of the fun inventory we will be bringing with us! We can’t wait to see y’all!❤️🛍️🎉

Today’s the day!!!!🎉🥳

Anderson Cheese Stop is officially open for business and celebrating their grand opening this weekend, starting today! We stopped by their store yesterday to check it out and it is stacked full of great foods, charcuterie needs and of course, CHEESE! Y’all that sampling bar is awesome!!😍

Y’all their pricing is PHENOMENAL! Like better than the grocery stores! I don’t think I’ve seen summer sausage that cheap anywhere else!! They have tons of local products, including those cute charcuterie boards, and they carry a whole section of shelf stable products from Troyer, great for those hunters/outdoorsmen in your life!!🌲

Stop in and check out their selection, take advantage of their grand opening sales, grab an Amish fried hand pie and a Jones soda and enjoy it sitting on the Oxbow’s pew on the front porch before crossing the street to the playground with your kiddos!❤️

We met the nicest lady a few weeks ago who has a shop in Miami, OK and runs it with her mom. We decided to drive over today since it’s not far and check out her shop after hearing all about it!

It was a bittersweet trip, as we browsed the store that was quite like ours with other local vendors and and even some handmade Oxbow signs!😉 We love that some of our furniture and goods were rehomed and it couldn’t be a more perfect fit! The white hutch was one of the very first pieces Mom ever refinished over 10 years ago! It was in pretty bad shape and definitely a labor-of-love project piece. She has held on to it all these years and had a bit of sentimental attachment to it, but decided it was time to let it go when we were downsizing. We loved seeing that it found its perfect home still displaying meaningful merchandise!❤️

This morning we spent some time moving a good amount of our inventory down to our storefront at The Shops at BrickCity Fayetteville!

We will be spending time this weekend bringing in some of our display pieces and furniture pieces from the store and finish adding all the product we plan to carry!

Some more good news- cookies, popcorn and moonpies have been reordered and will be restocked soon! Don’t forget, we are happy to offer local Neosho pick-up for your convenience!🎉
