I just finished these mirrors for Mr. Kevin Dugas, handcrafted from beautiful antique Cypress. Each frame is built solid at about 1¾ inches thick, giving them a bold, timeless character you can’t fake.

The wood came from my buddy Bruce over at Wager Wood Reclaimed in Carencro. If you’re looking for reclaimed wood, Bruce is the man to see. He’s sitting on about six acres of reclaimed lumber in just about every species you can imagine. Old-growth wood, real history, and quality you won’t find at the big box stores

Watch a powerful 3¼ HP Porter-Cable router turn rough slabs into perfectly flat, smooth surfaces using a slab-flattening table. This short film show the satisfying transformation from uneven wood to a clean finished slab. Perfect for woodworkers, DIY builders, and anyone who enjoys seeing raw lumber brought to life.

I finished this 8-foot-diameter table made from thermally modified antique longleaf pine. I chose thermally modified wood because the tabletop will live outdoors and be exposed to the weather. The tongue-and-groove fit-up was excellent, which made assembly go together really smoothly.

The top also had to be designed to split apart in the middle so it can be moved when needed, since it sits over a fire pit in the client’s backyard. But once it’s assembled, it looks and feels like one solid tabletop.

This one-of-a-kind slab is truly something special. Cut from rare sinker Sycamore, this stunning piece has been preserved underwater for years before being recovered, giving it incredible character, rich natural color variation, and breathtaking grain patterns you simply don’t find in ordinary lumber. Every inch of this slab tells a story, and the figure throughout the wood is absolutely mesmerizing.

Measuring a little over 8 feet long, 34 inches wide, and a massive 2 3/4 inches thick, this slab is the perfect centerpiece for a high-end epoxy river table, executive desk, dining table, conference table, or custom statement piece. The live edges and dramatic grain movement make it ideal for anyone wanting a truly unique build that will stand out for generations.

The natural beauty in this sinker Sycamore is unmatched — flowing grain lines, incredible texture, and deep organic character that only comes from old-growth wood. Whether finished with crystal-clear epoxy or left more natural, this slab has the potential to become a showpiece in any home, office, lodge, or luxury space.

If you’re looking for premium wood with personality, history, and unmatched visual appeal, this is the slab you’ve been waiting for. Pieces like this are getting harder and harder to find, especially in this size and condition.

Dimensions:
• Length: Just over 8’
• Width: 34”
• Thickness: 2 3/4”

Perfect for:
• Epoxy river tables
• Dining tables
• Conference tables
• Kitchen islands
• Custom furniture builds
• Statement woodworking projects

Serious inquiries only — this is a rare and beautiful piece that deserves an exceptional build

I’m building a removable tabletop to fit over the large fire pit. The design functions similarly to a table with a leaf, allowing it to come apart for easy removal and storage. It’s being built from thermally modified wood, which has enhanced resistance to rot and weather due to the thermal treatment process that stabilizes the wood fibers.

The project is not quite finished yet, but it’s coming together well. I’ll share more photos once it’s complete.
