✨ FROM GREAT-GRANDMOTHER’S DRESSER TO A BRAND-NEW BEGINNING ✨

Some furniture transformations are about giving an old piece a fresh look… and then there are pieces like this one. 💚

When we found this dresser, we learned that it had belonged to a man’s great-grandmother. It had already lived a whole lifetime before it ever made its way to me — and it definitely showed! 😂 This one needed A LOT of love, work, and imagination.

But underneath all those years of wear, I could see what it could become.

From an old family dresser ➡️ to a design in my head ➡️ to a completely transformed changing table for a new little life coming into the world. 🥹

Talk about coming full circle.

We stripped it down, repaired it, gave it a beautiful soft green finish and new hardware, and completely reimagined the bottom. And then Thomas with Walnut & Ember Creations took my vision even further by creating the custom scalloped detail and building the changing station for the top. Those details absolutely MADE this piece. 🤍

I’m incredibly thankful for clients who don’t even know me personally but trust me with pieces that will become part of such an important chapter in their lives. There’s something pretty amazing about knowing this dresser has already been part of one family’s story for generations and is now ready to be there for the beginning of another.

Old life. New purpose. New memories. 💚

And THAT is why I love doing what I do.

✨ From forgotten to forever. ✨

This dresser had definitely seen better days. Years of wear, outdated details, and a style that no longer fit today’s homes… but I could see the potential hiding underneath it all.

At The Flip Side Creations, my passion is taking pieces like this and giving them a second chance. Every inch of this dresser was stripped down, repaired, sanded, and refinished to remove decades of wear. The body was painted in a rich, timeless green, the mahogany top was refinished in a beautiful aged barrel stain, and updated hardware gave it the perfect finishing touch.

But this transformation wouldn’t have been complete without Walnut & Ember Creations.

Thomas designed and handcrafted the custom bottom trim, risers, and tapered legs that completely changed the silhouette of this piece. Those custom additions lifted the dresser, giving it a clean, modern feel while still honoring its antique character. It’s the perfect balance of old and new.

This is exactly why we love collaborating. One vision, two skill sets, and one completely transformed piece.

What started as a worn-out antique is now a statement piece ready for another lifetime of memories. ❤️

🤎 A table full of memories… and many more to come. 🤎

When our son and his girlfriend moved into their first apartment together, they asked if we would restore her childhood kitchen table.

Of course, we said yes. ❤️

So we made the trip to Memphis to pick it up, brought it back to the shop, and got to work. We stripped away years of old finish, sanded it down to bare wood, and gave it a brand-new stain and protective finish.

I’ll be honest… there was a point where I wasn’t sure it was going to turn out the way I had envisioned. After trying the first couple of stain coats, I was ready to start over. But sometimes you just have to trust the process.

And I’m so glad we did.

The finished table is absolutely beautiful and fits perfectly in their new home. Knowing they’ll gather around it for dinners, holidays, game nights, and everyday moments makes this restoration even more meaningful.

Sometimes the most rewarding projects aren’t the ones we sell—they’re the ones that get to stay in the family. ❤️

✨ NEW PIECE ALERT! ✨

I know I say this every time… but I think this one might actually be my favorite. 😍

This gorgeous Bernhardt buffet almost had a completely different future. I originally painted it “Navy”… except it wasn’t navy at all. 😅 It just wasn’t flattering, and I knew this piece deserved better.

So I took a chance on a color that’s been sitting on my shelf for months, waiting for the right project… and WOW. 💚

The rich jewel-toned green paired with the warm brass hardware completely transformed this piece into something elegant, timeless, and full of character. I loved it so much that I’ve already decided this is the color I’m using on a personal piece in my own home! So don’t be surprised if you start seeing more of this gorgeous green from The Flip Side Restoration.

And can we talk about the little details? The floral drawer liners, the solid Bernhardt construction, and all the storage make this piece just as functional as it is beautiful.

Update: this little table found its new home all the way to Kentucky!

Our newest Filp! We took this table that was being discarded and turned it into something beautiful that someone can use for years to come! This one was a definite “trust the process” project because when I started with the navy on the legs it was FAR from Navy! I am completely in love with how it turned out though! Update: this gorgeous piece found its new home 😍

Some pieces come together exactly as you envision them… and then there are the ones that take you on a completely different journey. This piece was definitely the latter.

When we first picked up this beautiful Pottery Barn Rhys Console Table, I had an entirely different plan in mind. But after one failed attempt after another, I finally decided to let go of my original vision and trust the process.

And honestly? I’m so glad I did.

This fully refurbished Pottery Barn Rhys Console Table became the statement piece it was always meant to be. We chose a gorgeous sage finish paired with brass hardware to create something timeless that could fit beautifully into any home. The drawer hardware is original, but the pulls were something I spotted and instantly knew belonged on this piece.

It may not look anything like I first imagined, but sometimes the best transformations happen when you pivot and let the piece lead the way.

And just like that… The Flip Side Restorations has officially completed its first transformation! 🤍

This sweet dresser got a whole new life with a soft sage makeover, updated hardware, and a little extra love inside the drawers too. What was once a forgotten piece is now refreshed, functional, and ready for a new home.

One of my favorite things about restoring furniture is seeing the potential in something others may overlook — because sometimes all it takes is a little vision, patience, and a lot of elbow grease. 🪴

This is only the beginning, and I’m so excited to share future flips, before & afters, and all the cozy restoration projects to come.
