Award-winning documentary Mental: Elder Abuse is headed to Texas as an Official Selection at the 2026 Austin Lift-Off Film Festival this April.

Since its debut in September 2025, the film has sparked nationwide conversations—earning the Audience Award at the Seattle Film Festival and “Best Human Rights Film” at the Durham Region International Black & Diversity Film Festival.

Directed by Khalif Breaux, this powerful documentary exposes a true story of elder financial abuse and systemic failure in New Orleans—serving as both a personal journey and a call to protect our aging population.

Honored and beyond grateful to share that Mental: Elderly Abuse has been officially selected for the Austin Lift-Off Film Festival 🎬✨

This film was created to shine a light on a reality that too often goes unseen and unheard. Being recognized on a platform like this means the conversation is growing—and that matters.

To everyone who supported, believed in, and helped bring this story to life—thank you. This is just the beginning.

Let’s keep raising awareness. Let’s keep telling stories that matter. ❤️
