We always think about how a dining room feels before we think about how it looks. The lighting, the sightlines between rooms, the softness of the materials, it all shapes the experience of sitting here for hours with family or friends long after dinner is over.

Florals have a way of instantly changing the feeling of a room. They bring movement, color, and a sense of life into a space, especially when paired against more structured materials and furnishings.

We often think of them as the final layer, something that softens a room and makes it feel more personal, lived in, and connected to the season.

This bathroom is a welcome retreat intended as a place to slow down. White travertine from Beata & Agnes Stone Gallery is paired with bleached oak, bringing warmth and softness to every surface without feeling heavy.

A skylight draws in natural light that shifts throughout the day, and the tub became the anchor for slow afternoons. Set in the Hamptons, it’s a space that is grounded in it's surroundings and offers an escape.

The best collaborations are built over time. For more than 20 years, our relationship with Holly Hunt Design has been rooted in trust, shared ideas, and a commitment to creating spaces that feel thoughtful, timeless, and deeply personal to each client. From customization and craftsmanship to comfort and longevity, the pieces we return to again and again are the ones that continue to evolve with a home while still feeling relevant years later.

Walking through the showroom with Phaedra and discussing some favorite pieces, the Pampa sofa, the Boulonnais table, and the Jett chair, was a reminder that great design is never just about aesthetics. It’s about relationships, collaboration, and creating something that truly lasts.

This is a workspace that balances form and function. The sculptural desk subtly projects from the wall and was inspired by a Donald Judd sculpture. A curated collection of the client's books and objects surround it. The space is personal, layered and reflects the clients who live there.

Design starts long before the first piece is selected. It begins with understanding how someone actually lives, the small habits, the routines, the things that matter day to day. The questions may seem unexpected, but they shape every decision that follows, making sure the home feels as easy to live in as it is beautiful.

The wallcovering by Fromental Design is a combination of hand-painted and stitched fabric, creating a highly textural surface that adds depth across the entire wall. Paired with a clean-lined headboard and a floating bedside table, the focus stays on material and craftsmanship.

Our goal was to make the dining room feel fresh and interesting while still respecting the pre-war feeling of the building. The paneling is a modern take on a classic form, with a raised panel that keeps it feeling current rather than traditional.

Steel pocket doors from England were introduced to echo the existing windows, creating a subtle continuity in material and structure throughout the home. The Lindsey Adelman Studio fixture anchors the space, while sconces from Pagani Studio add another layer, with lighting considered as carefully as any other element, almost like jewelry within the room.

It’s a balance of contrast and continuity, where each piece works together to create a space that feels both composed and alive.

Tall ceilings can be beautiful, but they need intention to feel comfortable. Here, the space is grounded through material and layout, with the fireplace acting as a natural focal point that draws everything in. Seating is arranged to feel connected, not lost within the scale, while the surrounding textures soften the height of the room.

It’s a balance of openness and intimacy, where the architecture makes an impact, but the space still feels easy to settle into.

A well-designed home is planned holistically from the very beginning. Furniture layouts, lighting placement, electrical plans, and circulation all influence one another, which is why bringing the interior designer into the process early is so important.

Decisions made during architecture and construction directly shape how the home will function and feel once someone is living in it. When those conversations happen together from the start, the result feels much more seamless, intentional, and considered.
