R O M A N T I C I Z I N G 29 + 10 . . .

i often forget about my age ; and what meaning there is tied to it , because in nyc ; we have our own relativity pertaining to age . . . part of me feels in disbelief that i am just one year away from 40 ; but the other part of me is grateful for how much i have built , accomplished , learned , and matured - each decade one realizes how much more important certain aspects are over others . . .

this year ; i wanted to romanticize the idea of aging a bit more and just think of the fun and playfulness of being 29 ; but translate it for a decade later . . . age truly is an ideology ; it is a phenomenon of how we measure time . . . but the reality of how we feel , act , and live is really based on our own mental health . . .

what i love about nyc is that we are the city of perpetual youth , excitement , creativity , culture and adventure . . . after 18 years here ; i still see , learn , and experience new things daily . . .

in my collages the past couple months : i have been working to incorporate more play and color ; a genuine freedom ; i think a fear in color is a fear in conviction . . . thus , i love to dive into a world with no limits , create an imaginative and expressive phenomenon . . .

what is so special about time ; and being in nyc , there is always an occasion to celebrate , it doesn’t have to just surround a birthday . . . there is no guilt or remorse for time well spent ; time well enjoyed ; and time worked hard for ; so thankful for another year with all of the beautiful people and places which surround me and i experience . . .

we have no need to romanticize if our lives already full of love and what we had already dreamed they could be . . .

it’s spritz and gemini season . . . _ xx hue

i have always thought about love far too much . . . more than anyone should . . . it is something i am always inspired by ; i like to surround myself with objects and ideas that represent artistry , passion . . . compassion and intrigue are what drive and inspire me to create - i have such an emotive response to almost everything , and it is joyous to integrate my feelings into every facet of my careers . . .

posting has felt almost exhaustive of late . . . i think it’s the over stimulation and communication across all projects - it’s an onslaught of emails , texts , abundantly filled schedules , travel . . . it feels almost impossible to focus a post , because an unfathomable and indigestible amount of content , inspiration , events and communication happen ; how do we prioritize what to share . . .

it should be a weightless expression ; moments we are proud and happy to share . . . it doesn’t have to be about the engagement , but more about the personal diary and creative expression . . . - whatever happened to those innocent dinner parties you would sneak into as a child just to share your latest set of drawings or unique creation : what happened to a more tactile experience that extends beyond our screens ?

sharing some of my favorite creations from this past month . . . it is really wonderful to spark an idea ; and then create it ✨

A U D A C I O U S N E S S . . . comes with every facet of design : the space planning , nuance of decor curation with wallpapers and fabrics , furniture selection , and sourcing the final layer of accessories . . . an interior is like a collage , it takes risk and a point of view , love , playfulness , experimenting , an editing eye , and a little luck . . .

with this project in boca raton ; not only were we able to make a beautiful and open space , we were able to pull the clients’ personality into the rooms to create an interior which feels cool and modern , yet with a casual elegance that makes it easy to use and feel lived in . . . we had a chance to get close over the year and a half , and were able to make a lot of bold and unexpected choices through our synergy . . .

the base palette of the home is a rich , warm and neutral combination , infused with walnut and black to add a dynamic contrast . . . we then layered in pattern and color - warm gray , orange , purple , and even a bit of bright pink . . .

the architecture of the home we anchored with all custom millwork - using a combination of four soft neutrals and rich walnut , curating each area to define visual anchors for the space and create axes . . . this allowed for more playful and organic furniture to live within the crafted shell . . .

the result is an interior worth shaking up a martini in . . .

bold choices pay off . . . enjoy the tour ! _ xx hue

🌸 ⭐️ a huge thank you to the client for being so open and involved ; the brilliant photographer who was able to capture all of the beautiful moments ; and the talented florist who also trusted me and took risks with some shape , sculpture and color ⭐️🌸

P L A Y F U L . . . is an attribute i love to bring into professional settings . . . the world is so serious ; we need to lean into imagination and whimsy to help transport clients and people into a brand , a lifestyle . . . creatively guide people into believing in something . . .

the past year , i have been working to marry luxury italian craft with the store environment . . . with merchandising , we design a layer of thought and practice others may miss . . . we have to curate how a patron shops , how our brand looks , and elevate the ideas . . . with the goal of inspiring the client to want to experience the beauty in the products people work so hard to create . . . merchandising is like styling a home , we tell a story of who lives there and the environment they surround themselves in . . .

storytelling , craftsmanship , legacy , integrity . . . all of the beautiful aspects of the history of pratesi ; inspire me to create beautiful experiences in store . . .

our flagship in palm beach is the perfect space to experiment , the interior is grand ; and feels unique to the market of luxury spaces ; bright light , high ceilings , warm teak wood and open space are the perfect backdrop to be a bit more theatric and curated . . .

for the opening , we went more tropical ; taking direct inspiration from the environment of where the store is located . . . for late spring/ early summer , i wanted to do something more casual and playful - thus the full tomato tablescape and an over the top floral moment with a variety of roses . . .

never let go of whimsy ; enjoy the story . . .

xx - hue
