Swipe for the before and more photos! 📸

My clients reached out to me for a project: a very sad and poorly lit basement to transform into an elegant and dramatic office space with TONS of storage.

But this project came with a few challenges:

🌱 the stairs were SUPER narrow, and everything had to fit through them

🌱 my clients were renting, so no renovations and nothing custom or too expensive

And here’s the result 🤩

8 months of transforming awkward layouts into spaces that finally make sense.

8 months of turning blank, boring rooms into homes with my clients’ names written all over them.

8 months of finding space where there seemingly wasn’t any, hiding the clutter, fixing the proportions, and occasionally talking someone out of a ridiculously oversized sofa 🙃

8 months of creating reading corners, peaceful bedrooms, places to host friends, spaces to finally switch off from work, and homes my clients genuinely can’t wait to come back to.

8 months of proving, over and over again, that the furniture is never really the point…

… the life you get to live around it is 🪄

I don’t hate trends.

I just don’t think they should get a vote on what your home is supposed to look like 🙃

If you genuinely love the thing everyone is obsessed with right now, amazing, let’s use it!
But I care much more about creating a home you’ll still be excited to come back to long after Instagram has moved on.

I’m not designing for an algorithm, a Pinterest board or my own aesthetic!
I’m designing for YOU.
And I’d much rather someone walk into your home and say *“This is SO you”* than *“This is SO trendy!”* 🫶

Home is so much more than pretty furniture, beautiful lighting and a perfectly styled coffee table.

I know that deeply, because I grew up in a home that didn’t always feel safe.
A home where I learned to pay attention to people’s moods, to read the room, to walk on eggshells, and where relaxing wasn’t always as simple as just... relaxing.

So when I talk about wanting your home to feel like a sanctuary, I don’t use that word lightly.

To me, home is the place where you should be able to close the door and finally let your guard down.
Where silence feels peaceful, nobody’s mood is yours to manage, and you’re allowed to take up space exactly as you are.

Of course I want your home to be beautiful! I became an interior designer for a reason 🙃

But the pretty things are just tools.

What really matters is creating a place where you feel safe, grounded, comfortable, completely yourself... and genuinely happy to come home.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop appreciating how beautiful that is 🫶
