In the Northeast, autumn can feel like a second spring.

This is one of the real values of living with gardens and landscapes.
They keep us connected to the season as it changes around us.
Without them, we could easily move from one season to the next without experiencing those changes quite as closely.
Instead, gardens bring the seasons closer to our everyday lives.

As temperatures begin to cool, a whole new group of plants comes into season. Asters, anemones, goldenrod, sedum and ornamental grasses bring new color and texture to the garden, there is so much happening in the landscape as we move into fall.

WHAT MAKES AN OUTDOOR OFFICE WORK?

A terrace with a table isn’t automatically an outdoor workspace.

For outdoor space to become part of the workday, it needs to function like one. Shade and shelter. Comfortable seating and work surfaces. Wi-Fi and power. At this residential property, BTH installed a permeable pathway system using pre-stabilized aggregate over a base of clean 3/4-inch gravel. The binder is pre-mixed into the aggregate and creates a consistent, durable walking surface, while the gravel base allows rainwater to drain naturally into the ground, helping reduce runoff and standing water.

Stormwater management is built into our landscape designs through permeable paving, grading, healthy soils, and carefully designed planting areas. A well-designed landscape can slow rainwater, allow it to soak into the ground, reduce puddling, support plant health, and lessen the burden on city infrastructure.
