Atmosphere isn’t styling. It’s built through material decisions.

For The Viewpoint Rooftop + Eatery, contrast was central to the experience.

Warm walnut millwork grounds the space, while locally quarried quartzite, marble surfaces, Belgian bluestone, and darkened metal introduce weight, tactility, and restraint.

Along one wall, a custom mural abstracts a forest landscape through tonal ink shifts - creating a quieter dining zone that intentionally defers to the mountain views beyond.

At the bar, lighter fluted detailing contrasts with a darker back bar and controlled illumination, creating a social edge within the plan without overpowering the room.

Hospitality interiors should feel layered - not loud.

Interior design shaping brand identity - Some restaurant interiors support the concept. Others define it.

At The Viewpoint Rooftop + Eatery in North Conway, the interior design shaped the guest experience before the culinary program was fully formed.

Set atop Hotel Indigo, the restaurant space was designed as both destination and extension of its mountain setting - drawing guests inward through a framed threshold before opening into a dining environment calibrated for how people gather, move, and linger.

A dedicated chef’s table anchors the plan, while quieter perimeter seating and lounge groupings create multiple ways to experience the space depending on time, occasion, and season.

As warmer months arrive, the experience expands outward onto the rooftop terrace - turning the surrounding landscape into part of the dining experience itself.

Hospitality interior design works best when it performs operationally and emotionally.

Great hospitality design is never just about aesthetics.

It’s about creating spaces that support brand identity, guest experience, and operational performance - all while telling a cohesive story.

For Hotel Indigo in North Conway, NH, every design decision - from materials and furnishings to artwork, meeting spaces, and custom detailing - was developed to reinforce a sense of place while aligning with the Hotel Indigo brand.

Thoughtful hotel interior design starts long before opening day.

A hotel guestroom should do more than look beautiful - it should shape how guests feel.

For Hotel Indigo in North Conway, NH, we designed the guestrooms as a modern mountain retreat: warm, layered, and intentionally connected to the surrounding landscape.

Custom millwork, soft material transitions, regionally inspired artwork, and abstract carpet patterns influenced by local hiking and ski trails create a boutique hotel guestroom experience that feels both elevated and comfortable.

The strongest hotel interior design often comes through the quieter moments - the textures, lighting, and details guests may not consciously notice, but absolutely feel.

A modular ribbon lighting system forms a vertical sculpture along the wall - its low-profile ribbons and compact spotlights creating rhythm, depth, and glow. That same language continues in the lounge chairs, where tailored channeling mirrors the vertical lines, bringing cohesion and warmth to the space.

Progress in motion at Hotel Indigo, North Conway, New Hampshire. ✨

LHK Design, in collaboration with Atelier Mel, created this dramatic pendant for the double-height lobby, installed by Opechee. The brass maple leaves drift in a sunlit cascade, evoking dappled forest light and blending seamlessly with the space—a tribute to the century-old “Harmony” Maple Tree that once graced the site.

Client feedback upon install:
“Wow. That lobby light is breathtaking!”
“At night from the street it looks amazing.”
“Great job, guys. Looks great.”

Still under construction, but the glow is already here. 🌿💡
