This wasn’t easy for me to do.
But I’m sharing it anyway—because I know there are moms out there who need to hear that they’re not alone, and that what they’re carrying inside doesn’t make them “bad” or “weak.”
I’m making this public now because I’m seeing so many polarizing opinions about the and more importantly, the shame that somehow always finds its way back to mothers. To women. Even when we’re doing the best we can with what life gives us.
Here’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot: we change our bodies, our hormones, our routines, our whole identities… but men often stay the same. And guilt? It rarely weighs on them the way it weighs on us. Not even close.
And I also want to say this clearly: we’re in a moment of history where women don’t want kids “just because”—not because it’s a trend or fashion. Women don’t want children because there aren’t guarantees and sorry to say but male nowadays act like man-children . There aren’t assurances that we’ll be supported, protected, or cared for in the way we deserve.
The system fails so many women—every single day. And yet the ones that speak up keep getting condemned.
So I’m inviting other moms: please share your stories.
Let’s normalize something that should never be controversial—postpartum mental health being taken seriously… there are more studies on vi**ra than in something so vital for human survival: The care of the caregiver.
My daughter deserves compassionate healthcare—and so do the millions of women around the world who feel invisible, dismissed, or blamed.
If you’ve been afraid to speak up, I hope this gives you permission. We need each other.
