About the Studio
Founded in 1994 by master builder and sculptor Thomas Beckman, Beckman Studio is a design/build collaborative dedicated to bridging the gap between design and construction. Led by a diverse team of architects, builders, artists, and craftsmen, the studio focuses on creating an experience for its clients that smoothly transitions from the initial design through to the construction
and realization of a project. We believe that by maintaining this level of consistency and continuity within a design/build system, the services we provide our clients save them both time and money. Unlike traditional building practices, the design/build paradigm offers clients a single source of communication; a studio made up of a diverse team of experts working in direct collaboration throughout the lifespan of a project. Instead of independently hiring an architect, general contractor, and technical consultants, clients can employ design/build studios. Within this system, designers, contractors, fabricators, and all manner of licensed specialists work as a collective to offer clients the clearest possible route to realizing their building projects.
