Not that long ago, our bathroom was feeling a little…boring. So, we did what all creative people do, we put on our thinking caps and then gave our 90’s mirrored medicine cabinet a little disguise. 😉⁣
⁣
We framed artwork and Velcro’d it right over the mirror - turning an everyday necessity into something that looks like it was always meant to be part of the gallery wall.⁣
⁣
Now the bathroom feels less like a forgotten, functional space and more like a true reflection of the rest of our home with a little extra character! ⁣
⁣

I think we may have scored the Marketplace deal of a lifetime!

Here’s the story…⁣

We’ve been on the hunt for a new coffee table for the living room. (We have a new sofa - more to come on that later) We needed something larger, but also not take up too much space. So, we decided on a glass top table with metal legs - it would be the best of both worlds. We found a beautiful one at a local furniture consignment shop and went to pick it up only to see the thick glass was SOOOO badly scratched. Sadly, we walked away from what we *thought* was the perfect table. Back to the drawing board.⁣
⁣
Off we went to scroll Marketplace (and so did our long distance bestie, Heldy). She sent us links to several that were in MD. We loved one and messaged the seller immediately. We were minutes too slow as she just had someone else secure it. Sigh.⁣
⁣
But the next morning, she messaged me back and the other buyer fell through, so it was ours if we still wanted it. YES, we want it! And she marked it down to $25! Sold! ⁣

We drove to Annapolis (our old stomping grounds) and picked it up from the most exquisite home! They loaded the VERY heavy table into our car and off we went back home with such a beautiful find from the sweetest of sellers. ⁣
⁣
We cleaned it all up and placed it in our living room. It was beyond 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩! Then I thought, ‘I wonder what the brand of this table could be’ and did a quick search. Friends, you need to make sure and swipe to the very last photo. 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨!!!!⁣

All that to say, we are humbled to have this beautiful heirloom piece in our home. 🤎⁣

The piece I waited for. 🤎

You can search and search for the perfect antique, but sometimes you just have to be patient and let the right piece find its way to you.

On a whim, my mom and I went to browse an antique store ‘just for the fun of it’. We walked in and there it was - we finally found the perfect antique secretary to use as my nightstand and when I went to pay for it, the store owner told me the vendor just brought it in that morning. I waited and waited and then it found me! Just like I had imagined, somehow it made the whole room feel warmer, cozier, and more me.

That’s the beauty of collecting a home over time. The wait is absolutely worth it.
