Saying they are overworked and underpaid, architects at a prominent New York firm want to unionize. Others could follow.

Bullet through Banana. Harold Eugene Edgerton. 1903-1990. Dye imbibition print.

An MIT professor, inventor, and a businessman, Edgerton claimed that his lifework was driven by the insights and questions surrounding "the experience of seeing the unseen." Glad I got to see the the Philip Guston show at Hauser &Worth on its last day. Macabre work to say the least. Lots of blood red and a rainbow of pinks. Guston says, “The things I felt... about certain painters of the past that... inspired me, like Cezanne and Manet... that complete losing of oneself in the work to such an extent that the work itself... felt as if a living organism was posited there on the canvas, on this surface... That's truly... the act of creation.”
