The entryway is a moment in itself.

Here, every element plays a role that foreshadows the entire home’s design. The oversized artwork and hand-hewn pottery echoes its vibrant, earthy palette, and a light oak console with angled legs introduces an abstract element, besides simply functioning as a catch-all for keys and sunglasses.

If your interior designer is always "yes-ing" you, that's a red flag.

The best designer-client relationships are built on trust, and trust requires honesty.

I encourage clients to share their wish list. It's a crucial part of understanding how they want to live. But my responsibility is to evaluate those ideas through the lens of the home itself; its architecture, layout, budget, and long-term livability.

Sometimes that means saying, "Yes." Sometimes it means offering a better solution.

The art they collect, and places they’ve travelled. The homes they remember growing up, or starting a family in. And of course, the ways they like to entertain and unwind. These details reveal far more than labels like “modern” or “traditional” ever could.

For our East Hampton client, we needed to create a vibrant retreat centered around two things he loves most: collecting art and bringing people together. We designed spaces for every occasion: a cozy bar and recreation room for evening gatherings, poolside lounging areas, alfresco dining, and welcoming guest suites for friends and family spending the weekend.

Just as importantly, the home needed to offer a sense of escape. A place to recharge and leave the pace of city life behind for a while.

Each project begins with understanding how our clients want to live. The design simply gives that vision form. →

These clients traded Texas for New York City and wanted a home that felt exciting, welcoming, cozy, and fully their own. Contemporary interiors, a love of bold color, spaces designed for entertaining (complete with a gorgeous custom bar), and even subtle references to a passion for horses all found their way into this Upper West Side condo design.

My clients sometimes freeze up when it comes to color.

They know they want a home with personality, but they worry about making the wrong choice. They don't want something that feels trendy today and dated tomorrow.

But I see color differently.

I use color as a tool, just as important as layout, lighting, architecture, or furniture. When thoughtfully applied, color can make a room feel calmer, more energetic, more intimate, or more welcoming. It can draw attention to beautiful architectural details and create continuity from room to room. Color makes a home feel distinct and personal to you.

In this Bronxville home, a blush pink lacquered ceiling reflects more light into the office. A golden ceiling paired with navy blue millwork gives the butler's bar a moody feel. →
