CALMING COMFORT for CLIENT C✨

Our sweet + intrepid client had experienced an unexpected move and we wanted to create a safe and soothing space for her.

Doing what we do best:

1️⃣ unpacking and implementing supportive streamlined systems that felt intuitive yet maximized existing storage.

2️⃣ identifying opportunities to utilize what she already owned before investing in new pieces and decorative elements.

3️⃣ designing a space that catered to her lifestyle and at home routines. Resourcing special and unique pieces that helped define the client’s evolving style and are renter friendly.

Our friend, Bri of beautifully captured the warm and welcoming essence of this Gramercy Park 2 bedroom apartment.

When life gets topsy-turvy it’s vital to have a support system to ensure you have a soft landing. And that’s what we provide for our clients.

Did you know it’s NATIONAL ADOPT a PET day?!

Neither did I until I was searching for an opportunity to show off some of our recently shot design projects.

Every home we touch is designed for the people who live there, but we know the real clients are the 4 legged ones 🐩🐈‍⬛

Everyone ♥️ a before and after story, well this one in Lower Manhattan is even more impressive because we purchased only 1 item - the collapsible valet hangers for the closet-less guest room. That’s it…

We were able to create this dynamic b+a with design savvy organization, dramatic art hanging, deep diving into the client’s storage room and a vision to surround the client with all her favorite things contained into a downside 2 bedroom rental apartment.

A design refresh doesn’t mean scraping what you have and stating over, it’s about strategic repositioning and repurposing to achieve something unexpected yet familiar.

At apartmentjeanie we wear many hats, but for me, this is the 🎩

Are you bored, but on a budget - let’s chat about how to reset and restyle your space without 🔨 the 🏦

Sherwin Williams invited us to a demo & daytime drinks of their new Emerald Symmetry Zero VOC line in Chelsea. Even though we don’t personally apply the paint to our clients’ walls, this new paint glides on so smoothly, I was tempted to grab the roller. Honestly even the most inexperienced DIYer could create a flawless finish.
And with zero VOC it’s the perfect choice for playrooms and nurseries, which are a favorite of ours to design, especially when it’s a 2nd bedroom/office conversion.
Special thanks to our friend, & the for always keeping us apprised of the latest color trends and advancements so that we can continue to serve our home design clients the latest and greatest in wall treatments.

Yes, I have a strong POV when it comes to the do’s and don’ts of closet organzation. And it’s why you hire us to create sustainable systems that are intuitive for your lifestyle.

You want us to not only be opinionated as how to maximize the interior of a closet so it can accommodate the breadth of your stuff, but resourceful in which products will serve you best.

And while I am intolerant of wire hangers, if you aren’t going to take the time to change out the clothes from the dry cleaner, then I am not going to fight you because (I’m sweet like that) as a professional organizer it’s my job to recognize what the client is capable of managing to ensure success in maintaining the system.

So take these 👍🏻 and 🚫 authoritative suggestions and decide what works best for you because the key to living a better organized life is achievable consistency.

And for those of you who want your closets cleared, cleaned and cohesive, let us do the heavy lifting and optimize and organize your space and stuff.

Leading into the living room.

This is where the color tension really pulls you in.

Once you move through the magenta entry hall, the apartment opens into the living, dining, and kitchen planned as one continuous entertainment space.

The living room is drenched in deep plum, creating a moody backdrop that immediately shifts the energy of the apartment. Painted charcoal built-ins add contrast and depth while the bold deco wallpaper frames the custom bar and anchors the room.

The dining area sits at the center under an oversized crystal chandelier (the client’s pick as this project is truly collaborative). Velvet dining chairs soften the palette while the natural wood table brings warmth and balance to the darker tones surrounding it.

The custom bar was designed as a focal point in support of the clients’ passion for spirits and cocktail culture. The living room naturally transitions from everyday lounging to hosting friends.

In the kitchen, the magenta ceiling continues the color drenching from the hallway and keeps the apartment visually connected from the front door through the entire open layout.

While this might not be everyone’s ☕️, it suits our client like a 🧤

A space that actually reflects the person who lives there is our definition of home.

Most people would have left this apartment a ⬜️

We didn’t.

6 months ago this entire space was white walls from the front door through the living room and kitchen. Perfectly nice. Perfectly safe. And completely wrong for the person who lives here.

So we re-imagined the apartment using our client as inspo.
Deep magenta flowing hair. Almost always dressed in black. A 🖤of things that feel a little dark and edgy, a little witchy, but giving glamour.

Now when she enters through the front door and moves down the hallway into the open living, dining, and kitchen, her home looks and feels like her.

The entry hall is saturated magenta and immediately sets the tone. From there the apartment opens into a rich plum living room layered with painted charcoal black built-ins. Deco bold wallpaper lead to the custom built bar that anchors the space.

Furniture inherited from the previous owner mixed with pieces the client brought from her former apartment and strategically sourced new staples create a cohesive design story.

Instead of replacing everything, we built the design around what existed using color, wallpaper, lighting, and thoughtful space planning.

Not every apartment should be white.

If you want a home that is filled with personality, YOUR personality, apartmentjeanie designs them.
