This weekend we celebrated the life of my Auntie Sherri.
Not everyone gets to grow up surrounded by a big, close-knit family. My mum is one of six, and they were the kind of siblings who genuinely loved spending time together. The cousins all landed around the same age, which meant summers, holidays, and family weekends felt a little bit magical.
The oldies would stay up late talking, laughing, and partying while the cousins disappeared for hours creating our own adventures. We rode bikes, played endless games, got into harmless trouble, and made the kind of memories that only seem possible when you’re young.
Looking back, I realize how lucky we were. What felt ordinary at the time was actually something pretty special—a family full of love, noise, chaos, and people who genuinely enjoyed being together.
This weekend reminded me of that.
It might have taken an angel in heaven to get us all together again, but somehow I think that was exactly the point. ❤️
Love you, Auntie Sherri.
