Inside NFI offices.

Most days it's covered in rug samples, metal finishes and paint cards. Behind it is the fabric library, every bin labeled, from florals and silk velvet to stripes and tassels. A gilded palm lamp lights the banquette where the quieter, heads-down work happens. There's leopard on the walls, velvet on the chairs and fringe at the hem.

But the room is only half of it. What makes a project with us turn out the way it does is the people around that table. Every one of them brings a different eye, and every decision passes through more than one of them before it reaches a client. No other studio is built quite like this one.

This is where every project starts.

Modern doesn't have to feel cold.

This home started as a white box. What makes it warm isn't decoration added at the end. It's custom millwork, drawn for this family and built into the bones of the space before a single piece of furniture arrives.

Ordinary to otherworldly happens here, while the home is still being built.

Consider this the unofficial official invite: come sit with us at After Seven before it's gone.

Wander the roof until you find your favorite spot. It's hard to choose, but the northeast corner makes a compelling case.

A rendering is a promise. Everything after it is how we keep it.

Once a client signs off on how a room should feel, the work moves into drawings. Elevations, plans and shop drawings get marked up in red until every dimension holds. None of that shows up in the rendering. All of it shows up in the room.

We are a full service architectural design studio. We draw it, we detail it, and we see it built.

Welcome home.

A 2,200-square-foot New York rental for a family of three, with one rule: nothing could be renovated. No walls moved, nothing built in, nothing that couldn't leave with us. So color, wallpaper, textiles and art did all the work.

Every project starts with the team around one table.

No one on our team designs alone. A new home begins with several sets of eyes testing every material against every other until the combination is unmistakably one of one. Nothing should look like it came as a set, so nothing gets decided by one person.

This is the dream in process.

Every voice welcoming you in this reel had a hand in After Seven. No single person built this room, and you can see it every detail.

Opening night was the first time it was used the way it was designed to be used: full of people, after dark. Open through October 13th.

A closet is the most personal room in a home, so we don't design it like storage.

This one was designed the way its owner gets dressed: more is more, nothing matches on purpose, and every piece has to earn its spot. The room isn't a backdrop for the wardrobe. It's part of it.

Nothing in here would work for anyone else. That's the point.

An empty apartment tells you nothing about the people who will live there. This one came to us as a white box on the Upper West Side, and every decision since has been about giving it a history it didn't have.

A verdure tapestry above a custom bookcase built to run the full length of the hall. A rug in cobalt and ochre under the library ladder. An ikat banquette in pulled up to a kitchen island. Sketches and hand-painted plates on walls.

Nothing came off a showroom floor. It was made custom for this family and for the way they read, cook, host.

Nearly finished. The full reveal is coming.
