The largest museum in North America is home to my favorite little nook, the Vélez Blanco Patio, also known as Castillo de los Fajardos. This beautiful courtyard, styled in Gothic and Renaissance architecture, was created in Andalusia, Spain during the 16th century. Thousands of marble pieces from the original castle were sold to a wealthy New Yorker, but they were ultimately acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
