Difference between Interior Design and Interior Decorating
The term interior design (and by extension, interior designer) is different from interior decorating (and likew

ise, interior decorator), although some use these terms interchangeably. An interior decorator applies decorating principles to beautify a space. Although an "interior designer" can also make aesthetic changes to an interior space, the interior designer is a professional licensed and/or registered with a licensing authority who coordinates design projects with a holistic approach in spatial design. Education requirements are less technical for an interior decorator than for an interior designer. While an interior decorator requires no formal mandated education or licensing requirements, an interior designer should meet both education and licensing requirements of the jurisdictions in which they practice, and the designer must be well versed and knowledgeable technically in the building and safety codes that can affect changes to interior spaces. Most state and provincial licensing boards require passage of the NCIDQ Examination for licensure or registration.

A few months ago we shared a few sneak peeks from this project at the beauty college. Happy to finally share these photos of the completed space.

The conference room located in the back with sliding glass doors offers a semi private space for meetings or just a quiet place to work. The front area is an open concept lunch and lounge space for the staff to enjoy. 🥰

It was definitely a design challenge with such a narrow space but we made it work for them to use the space in the most efficient way possible. This is what form and function is all about when it comes to our design philosophy. 😍🤓

Fun facts: The framed photography we used as artwork are actual work from former graduates. What a great way to showcase their work for these beauty college students. 🤩💅💇🏻‍♀️💋

Modernism Week

Every year for my birthday I would take a trip to Palm Springs for Modernism Week cus it always around my birthday. If you’re new here you should know that I’m a huge fan of mid century modern. 🤓

So glad my design bestie Belinda got to join me again this year so we decided to do a self guided tour and did a lil road trip there.

We toured a total of 6 homes in the Sunmor Estates neighborhood so I’ll be posting about each home separately. Stay tuned. 😍 Fun facts, these homes were built between 1955 to 1960 and one of the architects during that time was Wexler & Harrison. One of my fave architects. I’ve toured quite a few Wexler’s homes throughout the years during Modernism Week. 🤓

Here are some highlights from that fun-filled day. This year is all about the classic cars as you can see. 🤩

Had a wonderful morning with my designer friends at a lunch and learn with Moya Living and Aranelli at North End Design.

We got to tour their stunning showroom after a presentation to learn more about their products and services. It was great to learn the history of Moya Living and how they got started.

After lunch we got to explore the showroom and geek out over all the cool features. These photos don’t even do it justice. I highly recommend you come in to see their beautiful showroom for yourself. Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable.

Thank you again for the invite! What an inspiring day!

New year, reimagined space. Starting the new year with better design. 🥰

A little refresh project for the women’s restroom at the beauty college. This was done during the holiday break when the school is closed. The staff and students came back to this fresh new space! 😍

Full remodel will be done at another time. For now a fresh coat of paint to brighten up the space to start. The wow factor is the sink area with beautiful backsplash tiles in warm and cool tones and a brand new floating vanity. 😍 Now this space is functional and gorgeous 😁

Last 2 photos are from before. It used to be very dark and cave-like. Love the fresh and bright new look! 🤩

Had a wonderful time with my designer friends at our 2nd annual holiday get together. Missing a few but they were there in spirit. 🥰 Always so fun catching up and talking design and life! Love celebrating our wins and achievements, and when we do have some lows we would always be there to cheer for each other. 🥰❤️

Here’s to new beginnings and new opportunities for all of us! Like the custom note pad Kate gave me, manifest that s**t!!! 🥰🙌 See you all in 2026!

Sometimes you have to create your own opportunities. 🥰

I’ve been wanting to attend the CREW events for months but my schedule just never seems to align. I am so glad my first event was this one.

CREW is an organization for commercial real estate for women. Last night’s event was a celebration for the Southern California Commercial Real Estate Power Women.

It was such an amazing night to celebrate these influential women and their achievements. I am so inspired by them and I loved hearing about their journey. Congratulations to all the honorees!

I met so many new friends from all different backgrounds from real estate professionals, designer, architects, engineers, developers, banking, and everything in between.

Sometimes you just gotta put yourself out there to let the universe do its thing.

Looking forward to more opportunities in 2026 in the next chapter of my career. 🥰🤓

It’s been a few months since we started the refresh project at the Beauty College.

As we are wrapping up this space with some final accessories we want to share some before and after. There was a dividing wall between the 2 spaces, now with the custom sliding glass doors we now have a space for the conference room in the back and the front is the new employee lounge area. The piece de resistance is the sliding glass doors. Not only does it act as a nice barrier, the clear glass and frosted area offers light and also privacy. We are in love with it 😍

This space was formerly the admin room, we’ve since relocated the admin space. Will share that another time.

We are close to the finish line and so far everyone love the new space. Stay tuned to see the final reveal of the lounge and lunch area. 🥰

P.S. The sofa and coffee table in the lounge area was from the old lounge area. Everything else are brand new. 😁

Who says small spaces can’t make a big statement?

This little refresh went from flat dark walls to this charming Chinoiserie style wallpaper. Now this powder room feels like a hidden gem. 😍

August Designers Roundtable meeting but make it Happy Hour! 🙃

What a great way to end our Tuesday evening. Had a wonderful time catching up with my designer friends over delish food and cocktails. We had a few special guests joining us this month. We are looking forward to collaborate with them in the future. Looking forward to all the upcoming design events. It’s going to be a busy fall for us, we still trying to get thru a busy summer. 🥰

P.S.
I came a lil early and took some photos of the interior. The restaurant designer in me was totally geeking out with all the fun elements from the unique lighting fixtures to the old school stereos. 😍

Spring is nature’s way of saying, time for a refresh!

Check out this master bathroom’s transformation.

It started off as a project to declutter the counter and looking for a solution to hide all the everyday essentials. Because of the plumbing behind the side walls of the vanity we weren’t able to do recessed medicine cabinets like how we wanted, so instead we had custom medicine cabinets made to match the existing cabinets.

The existing vanity area had 2 wall sconces on the side but it wasn’t functional at all. We added 2 decorative sconces above the mirrors that’s brighter and oh so pretty 😍

The final design element to pull the whole space together are the wallpapers, 1 pattern more subtle and relaxing and the other makes you feel more connected to nature. 🥰

My clients are so happy with how everything turned out and they are thoroughly enjoying their newly refreshed bathroom 🥰

Thank you to Artur for doing such a great job installing the wallpaper and for taking these photos. 🥰
