🌟✨ Hear it from Rachel! After transforming her old Red Sox t-shirts into a fabulous jumpsuit at Hipstitch, she’s ready to share her experience! 🎉👖
I had the best experience at Hipstitch Brookline Village creating a patchwork Red Sox jumpsuit from old T-shirts! Everyone I worked with was knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic about my project. It was truly amazing to repurpose old Red Sox T-shirts, a few 22 years old into a new piece of clothing. The experience was incredible as I spent time working with a pattern, pinning, measuring, cutting and using a sewing machine - all with guidance and assistance from a fashion design student. I am 52, took a sewing class in home economics in middle school when I was 14 or 15, and remembered very little. This was a highly rewarding experience and I recommend taking a class or working on a solo project with dedicated assistance. While I worked on my project about once a week for 5 weeks, I saw many children in camp and the Hipstitch Brookline Village staff were fantastic teaching and encouraging the students. The last day I worked on my project coincided with children who had spent a week in camp. They were interested in my project, and I was asked to watch their fashion show, and show them my project. The outfits they created were awesome and the energy for sharing our creations is something that will stay with me for a very long time. In fact, one student made a shirt that I want to make, so I know I’ll be back soon. Thanks to Luna, Kaitlin and especially Marisol for helping me with my project!
