The Nogales-Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce joins our community in mourning the passing of Mr. Cesar Parada, a valued member of our Chamber family, former Board Member, community leader, veteran, and dedicated public servant.
Mr. Parada lived an extraordinary life defined by service to his country and the Nogales-Santa Cruz County community. He earned a degree in electrical science and worked as a lineman for Citizens Utilities, building a career rooted in hard work and service.
He proudly served our country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Armyโs 1st Cavalry Division in Korea, earning distinction through his military service. His commitment to fellow veterans continued at home through his service as a Commander of the American Legion.
His dedication to public service was equally significant. Mr. Parada served as both a City of Nogales Councilman and Santa Cruz County Supervisor, giving his time and leadership to the community he proudly called home.
Beyond public office, his commitment could be seen throughout the organizations and causes he supported. He served as a Board Member of the Nogales National Little League, was a proud member and Board Member of the Nogales-Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce, and remained a steadfast supporter of the Chamberโs mission and the local business community.
Perhaps closest to his heart was his 30 years of service with the Nogales Volunteer Fire Department, a remarkable commitment that reflected his lifelong dedication to protecting and serving his neighbors.
We are deeply grateful for Mr. Paradaโs contributions to our Chamber and, even more so, for the lifetime of service he gave so generously to his country and the Nogales-Santa Cruz County community. His leadership, dedication, and community spirit leave behind a legacy that will continue to be remembered.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, fellow veterans, colleagues, and the countless community members whose lives he touched.
Rest in peace, Mr. Parada. Your lifetime of service and dedication to our community will not be forgotten. ๐บ๐ธ๐๏ธ
