I’ll be back in my studio next week to finish what I started before focusing on other commitments. This piece (a table top) is going to be so unique and cool when it’s done…and I have another similar table right behind it in my queue. I have a few ideas how that one will be outfitted…🤔 Stay tuned!

I’ve been busy sewing up pillows from April Cornell and some William Sonoma napkins with fun reverse sides. I love picking the coordinating back fabrics for a dual purpose pillow! Sold as singles so the most adventurous can create a garden in their decor! Or buy 2 matching for a more coordinated look. 🌺🌸🌷🌼🌹💐 Oh, and the butterfly single cuz I only had a bit of fabric for that one! All covers zip off for cleaning.

As Mother’s Day approaches, you may consider a cute vintage piece from your favorite antique store for the perfect “Mom, you are the best” gift. Did you know that Hunt & Gather Vintage Market L.L.C will ship small items?

I love a good juxtaposition! This MCM Mengel blue painted dresser is currently neighbors with this wonderful ‘Country Chippendale’ early 18th century chest of drawers in my booth space at Hunt & Gather Vintage Market L.L.C. I’m sure they are sharing amazing stories until they each find forever homes in completely different decor spaces…or maybe some adventurous decorator places them together again !

This petit vintage secretary desk has been buried in my stash for YEARS. I was waiting to figure out what to do with her. Having recently sold a great piece with shelf space, I needed something with display potential. WAY deep in my pile was this piece waiting patiently for her turn. When I dug her out and cleaned her up, I realized the quality of her wood and craftsmanship. I then decided she didn’t need a paint makeover after all, just a refreshed writing surface. There is a right time for each piece in my pile…this was her time. , what piece has been hiding for a l-o-n-g time in your stash of “to-do’s”.

This antique dresser has been through many changes! I’m calling her ‘The Coat of Many Undercolors’. She came to me SO chippy white that I left her outside on my porch for 2 years hoping the chips would fall off! No such luck. After completely getting the top down to wood, I realized she had been ‘ridden hard and put away wet’ and the top would need paint. The side panels reflect tons of sanding to reveal no less than 7 layers that did NOT want to be removed, so I embraced them and sealed up the rest. The front was adorned with a lovely IOD - Iron Orchid Designs paint inlay and the k***s took days of stripping. Phew! I’m so glad she’s finished and waiting at the Mill District Local Art Gallery for her next adventure!

I change the dropcloth on my main worktable a few times a year. It feels so good to start fresh and new…but, it doesnt last long! I’m a messy painter so I have quite a collection of used up (both sides) dropcloths that I can’t quite seem to dispose of🤣. I MIGHT need it someday, you know! What becomes of your used-up dropcloths?
