In Loving Memory of Matt Skogman

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of Matt Skogman of Midwest Coast Flooring.

Matt was so much more than a business owner or a flooring professional—he was the foundation beneath so many of us. A master of his craft, a respected leader in our industry, and someone who took immense pride in doing things the right way, every single time. His work can be seen across our community, but his impact goes far beyond the floors he installed.

Matt was, above all else, a devoted husband and an incredible “girl dad.” His love for his family was unmatched. He showed up every day with quiet strength, steady guidance, and a heart that made those closest to him feel safe, supported, and deeply loved.

To his team, Matt was more than a boss—he was a mentor, a teacher, and someone who truly cared. He believed in people, invested in their growth, and led with integrity and humility. He built not just a company, but a family. We were all fortunate to be trained by the best, and we will continue to live up to his expectations.

Matt also gave back to this community in countless ways. Whether through his work, his support of local businesses, or simply showing up when it mattered most, he made a lasting difference. The respect he earned and the relationships he built speak volumes about the kind of man he was.

Even in his passing, Matt continued to give. Through the gift of organ donation, he has given others hope and life—one final, selfless act that reflects the generous spirit he carried throughout his life.

Matt’s legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the family he adored, the team he built, and the community he helped strengthen.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored.

As of 1:30 today Matt was legally brain dead. Since he was ventilated the whole time he was here he is in a less than 1% class of patients eligible for organ donation. That means his liver, kidneys and lungs will be viable for donation after testing...less than 1% of people that come into the hospital meet the criteria to even be screened for this. If you know my husband you know he gave everything he had to those around him and this is no exception. My husband is a warrior for God and always has been. He is our hero and I will forever be grateful that he chose to be with me. We built a beautiful life together and I will continue to honor his life every chance I get. He is with his maker and knows he has been chosen for greatness. I love you like no other, Matthew Bror Skogman! Best girl dad, husband, friend, boss, mentor, and Flooring guy around!

Please keep Matt Skogman in your prayers today. We are asking for strength, healing, and peace during a very difficult time. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, comfort for our family, and for Matt’s body to rest and recover.
