Ex-spouse Alert! Got one? 😜

Being kind is always an option!!

A Tale of Kindness!

I wish I could say I always respond with such elegance, poise and grace, but to be honest, I have my limits, and apparently today, that limit was had. I've allowed many derogatory remarks in the past to "slide," but not today. Follow me down this slippery slope...I have a point. 🤪

Some of you might've seen the negative banter on my post from yesterday. I guess my husband's lovely ex thought a lil mudslinging was appropriate and felt comfortable throwing stones on my business page regarding personal matters. If there was a real concern, she may have considered tapping the button marked, "message,"...for a private conversation between the two of us, vs addressing them on my business page in an attempt to tarnish my reputation. Some may find this post unnecessary, but I found the silver lining and decided there's nothing wrong with a simple reminder to be kind. 😉

I could have taken the high road, and let the negative banter "slide" off my back, like water off a duck's back, but I'm not a duck. 😂🦆 Soooo, there's that!

What gets me is keyboard ninjas who'd never say it to your face, but are more than comfortable hiding behind a keyboard typing snide remarks then play the victim when they're called out!!

My ex and I figured out that co-parenting was better for our son. We weren't perfect, but we tried, and he was invited to the important stuff - birthday parties, sports games, etc..,. In fact his wife and I have attended several retreats together. It hasn't always been smooth sailing, but it's better than playing the 'let's make the kid choose' game. I would NEVER want to be the reason my son didn't have a relationship with his dad. Don't get me wrong, we had our fair share of making poor choices but over time, we've learned from them.

To all the ex-spouses out there, consider this: badmouthing the other parent or their new significant other might just boomerang on you, and it's the kids who end up with emotional whiplash. Just because you and your ex don't like each other doesn't mean your kids feel the same way. Kids should NEVER feel they need to make a choice.

Let's all do our kids a favor: allow your kids to love each of you. Don't manipulate your kids into making a choice due to your own insecurities or dislikes towards your ex. Your kids aren't pawns in your game of 'Ex-spouse Gotcha.' The best gift you can give your kids is showing them what kindness and respect look like, even when things get messy & hard. THAT, is the true epitome of Love for your kids. ♥️ Keep adult matters between the adults.

Now, I know there are all kinds of circumstances out there. Unhealthy and unsafe ex-spouses. I'm not referring to these kinds of relationships, as these often require a third party to navigate healthy boundaries. 👐

Ok, stepping off my soap box! In the meantime: HAPPY EX-ING 😜
Blessings! ♥️

Hello...summer vacation 🌞 has hit our home. It's been awhile since I've posted, so I thought I'd share what I've been up to.

I don't know about you, BUT I absolutely LOVE & CHERISH the time my kids/ grandkids/family can all be together. It's like Christmas for me. The chatter, laughter, business of little ones and the excitement of stories being shared among the group. My daughter, son in law and granddaughters flew in from CT. So of course we needed to all come together. We started our week off with a small gathering at our home, with auntie Julie Fogelberg, Robocop EightySix, Jennifer Strasser. We even snuck in, hide and go seek in the dark.

The next morning we headed up to the North Shore where we rented a cabin. We explored Gooseberry Falls, Tom's logging camp, back to our cabin for dinner over the bonfire and s'mores before we hit the hay.

After some much needed rest, we headed to Canal park, Lake Superior Maritime museum, Grandma's for lunch, shopping the Canal shops and then back to GMA and pops home.

The following morning we were greeted with the bright beautiful sun and warm temperatures as we headed to Wisconsin's, Fawn Doe Rosa, back to GMA and pops for a BBQ. The grandkids enjoy when Grandpa takes out his accordion and plays for them. Our oldest grandson is a natural. He's only played a couple of times and was able to play part of a tune!!! 😍
The days following were filled with more gatherings...more chatter, laughter and stories.

The kids worked together and baked chocolate chip cookies. It was so much fun watching the older kids help the younger ones, Taking turns to do their part. ♥️BTW: The BEST COOKIES EVER!!! ♥️

I painted a family tree on canvas and had all my grandkids add their handprints for the leaves. I can't wait to hang it up. It's a picture I'll always cherish.

This week with my Family was ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. Due to distance, all my grandkids don't get to spend much time together. To watch them come together and pick up where they left off warms this Grandma's soul.

I have to brag on my kids for just a hot minute: to watch your own kids raising such sweet, kind and respectful lil humans...well, there's just nothing sweeter than that!!! ♥️🥹🥲
I know you Grandma's know exactly what I mean.

So, cheers to you, and your summer making memories with your families!!! Soak it all in. ♥️🌞

I hope you all have had a wonderful day celebrating.

When you think of Mother's day, you think of it as a joyful occasion. Kids gathered around thanking their mom for everything she's done. All the sacrifices she has made. Surrounding her with love, flowers and appreciation.

However, Mother's day can be extremely challenging for others.

If today has been filled with sorrow, hurt or pain, I pray that you find joy in the possibilities of what can be. That you are filled with hope, and any painful or strained relationships will be restored. That Hearts would be mended and you find peace and joy!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hey Friends, The Vintage Pixie, Vintage Artisan Market is right around the corner. All the information is posted below. Check out The Vintage Pixie To see "live" videos of what Mary's up to.

📌 I had previously posted that I was registered as a vendor, but
Unfortunately, due to unforseen health issues, I will not be there. However, Mary has worked extremely hard putting together a great line-up of talented vendors. I'm truly disappointed I won't be attending this time around. Looks like a great assortment of treasures.
Have fun!!! 🙂
