GREETINGS FROM QUILT GARDEN
Wow! It is already February. I guess I was enjoying the beautiful weather and January slipped by.
The Quilt Show at Lake Farmpark in Lake County starts this month. I am happy to announce we have two ribbon winners from our area. There may be more, but I only know about two. Christel Richard won first place in her category and Robyn Winn won third place in the same category. The preview party is this Thursday evening and I am closing the shop at 3 PM so I can drive Robyn to the festivities. Congratualtions to both!!!!!
Last fall I applied to the Judy Niemeyer Instructor Certification Program. I truly did not expect to be accepted, but in December I received my invitation. Judy writes a Technique of the Month pattern that only these teachers can teach. The newest pattern will be revealed this summer. Incidentally, there are only 20 certified instructors across the US and Canada. I am still floating. So you will be seeing more Judy Niemeyer classes being offered in the near future. Last April we started a new, little shop hop - Crazy Eight. It will be returning on Friday, April 13 through Saturday, April 21. Our meeting is Sunday, so stay tuned for more details. I am planning a spectacular display of quilts in the classroom, so save the dates.

It is hard to believe that 2011 is coming to an end. The time really went fast this year. It went so fast, I only have time to give you a glimpse into 2012. The full newsletter for January - February will arrive mid month.
My best news is Julia is hoping to return. She misses the customers and especially the fabrics. When she returns, I will be able to offer more classes - some new and some old favorites. I am also planning the Super Bowl Sunday class.

GREETINGS FROM QUILT GARDEN
Jamison and I traveled to SC for the Thanksgiving holiday with family. We saw the little nieces and nephew and of course, our annual hockey game - They won. The temps were in the 70's. Then we came home to rain and more rain. I know - it is better than snow!
Just a reminder - if the North Canton School system is closed for snow or ice, Quilt Garden is also closed. If the schools are closed for frigid weather, Quilt Garden will be open. I drive a heated car and wear the appropriate clothing. When in doubt, call the shop. If I answer, I am there!
Since BUY AMERICAN is in the news, I went in search to find products made in the USA. Sorry to say all fabrics and threads are manufactured elsewhere. But AQS books, all Creative Grid rulers, Dream Cotton battings are made in the USA. All self-published books and patterns - including Judy Niemeyer and Edyta Sitar, zippers by Atkinson. Transweb and fusible batting plus the add-a-quarters, batting together, applique pressing sheet and Electric Quilt. Several of the items are tools I frequently use. As a result, on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10 - all American made items are 20% off. Since we are near inventory counting time, I will include all special orders if we run out of an item.

GREETINGS FROM QUILT GARDEN
The seasons are quickly passing. I was able to drive to Pennsylvania in October and enjoyed the gorgeous colors of fall. Then the rains came, and I have already spent too many hours raking those leaves. Before long, I will see sparkling snowflakes in the air. Just remember, winter is great for stitching.
