Hey friends and followers,
I wanted to let everyone know that yesterday was a good test run for me to see what I can do with this flower stand this year. It was a very hot day, yet I did sell a few bouquets and I have a future order! I'm just getting started and I don't have much to offer yet. However, I do plan to open at least two more times this year. I'll need to supplement this year with some wholesale flowers, but by next year I hope to have much more to offer, that is grown right here on our land.
Right now the two days that I plan to be open are tomorrow evening (June 28th), weather permitting and July 19th. For every bouquet I sell, I will donate one to a nursing home resident! I want to have a mission behind my flowers and my heart has always been with the elderly and disabled. I'd love to one day have flower workshops that I can bring into nursing homes.
I want to bring a little purpose and positivity in an engaging and enriching way to some of the dearest people in our community β€οΈ
lll be very honest here, I learned a lot on Thursday! For one it was too hot to sell flowers during a heat wave. I only had them out a short time before having to bring them in. Also, daylilies only last a day, but they have plenty of buds to keep blooming for days, which makes them a great flower for a vase that will last 5 or more days.
I wasn't sure exactly where I wanted to end up with this little farm stand or how I would sell flowers when I really don't have many flowers yet. Now....I have a plan in mind for how to grow this farm stand into something that can be open every week when flowers are blooming.
Everything I sell this year will help support the BIGGER vision next year. I have exciting news to share next week regarding that, so stay tuned!
Business isn't booming yet, and I'm not ready for it to be, but it's there! I'm excited, thank you for bearing with me and being patient while I work in the background to make this everything it can be! Thank you for engaging with this page and supporting this business with all your love and excitement ππΌπ΅οΈπΈπ΅οΈ
I want to say a few thank yous to a few specific people:
Thank you Tiff Smith for trading my eggs for several flats of beautiful flowers ready to planted that will soon be made into beautiful flower bouquets π
Thank you Deb Malone for seeing the vision, being my first REAL customer and for being just as excited about flowers as I am πͺ»
Thank you to my wonderful sister-in-laws Camryn Still and Jennifer Marie Glancy. Cam painted my beautiful road sign π and Jennifer curated the perfect logo, she went above and beyond making different versions of the logos that can be used on stationary stickers and even clothing! She also edited some beautiful photos I can use for marketing! I'm so lucky to have these two ladies support.
Finally, thanks to Mom for buying my first 2 bouquets to deliver to grandma and grandmas friend in the nursing home, and my dad for letting me talk endlessly about flowers and business strategies. My two closests friend Angela and Tracy for giving me the courage to try.
Last but not least, my husband, Jim Goin, the back bone of all of this, and the true green thumb. Who going to be making this dream a reality π΅οΈπΈπΌ
