Sometimes it’s nice to have somewhere to retreat without being on your own. That was the idea behind the first-floor lounge at Jerusalem Heights — a relaxed place for the family to gather, tucked away from the main living spaces two levels up. It works just as well for a quiet afternoon as it does for lingering with a drink at the end of the day.⁠

We leaned into a richer, more grounded palette here, using deeper green upholstery, warm wood and layered neutrals to give the lounge a sense of intimacy and ease.⁠

We knew this corner of the kitchen had the potential to become one of those places everyone naturally gravitates toward.⁠ The custom built-in banquette catches the morning sun and creates an easy spot for coffee, breakfast and lingering a little longer than planned. ⁠

The intention here was to create a gathering space that felt softer and more intimate, which is why we leaned into rounded forms and a restrained palette of blue-greens and warm neutrals that echoes the landscape beyond the windows.⁠

At Jerusalem Heights, we gave each of the three grown children’s bedrooms its own personality — a welcoming place to return for a weekend or settle in for a longer stay.⁠

This room has a more masculine feel, with a palette and mix of materials that connect it to the rest of the home. Personal to each of them, cohesive as a whole.⁠

A family home needs room for everyone to come together — and space to settle in at their own pace.⁠

At Jerusalem Heights, we designed the downstairs lounge as a relaxed gathering spot with a feel all its own. A mini bar keeps refreshments close at hand, making it easy to linger over a drink and good conversation.⁠

It’s another way the home reflects how this family lives, with inviting spaces for different moments throughout the day.⁠

Introducing Jerusalem Heights, our latest project in Narragansett.⁠
⁠
Our clients had owned this coastal home for years, but after spending much of that time as a rental, it had never really been designed around them. The goal was to turn it into a personal second home: relaxed, inviting and ready to welcome their three grown children back again and again.⁠
⁠
We reimagined the home through new furnishings, a new kitchen and two renovated bathrooms, creating interiors with more warmth and depth than the traditional blue-and-white beach house. Warm woods, softened greens and blues, natural textures and layered materials give each space its own character while still feeling connected throughout.⁠
⁠
And within its compact three-level footprint, there’s now room for different rhythms of family life, featuring places to gather, space for a quieter conversation, and rooms to retreat to when everyone wants a little time of their own.⁠
⁠
We’re excited to share more of Jerusalem Heights in the weeks ahead.⁠
