Recipes from one of the most magical kitchens, Mrs. Claus shares some year round family favorites!!

Mrs. Claus’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
(For an even bigger indulgence, use big chocolate chunks instead!)
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 C). Grease your cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
Melt your butter in the microwave or over the stove and set aside to cool for just a bit.
Sift the flour, salt and baking soda together and set aside.
In another bowl, mix the sugars and melted butter until thoroughly mixed, then add egg, yolk and vanilla and mix until creamy. Add the sifted ingredients and mix until blended without overdoing it.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips. Drop 1/4 cup of dough at a time on a cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly. You’ll get 10 to 12 cookies, depending on their size.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until lightly golden and set.
Leave the cookies on the cookie sheet for a few minutes when removed from the oven until they firm up a little. Gently remove the cookies to a cooling rack.
Enjoy!

Yesterday was a blast

February 3: Santa and Mrs. Claus spend the morning in the kitchen experimenting with new cookie recipes. They test cinnamon swirls, marshmallow crunches, and a peppermint brownie that Santa insists needs “just a little more chocolate.”
