When I am not playing in my shop, I am creating other things with the newest addition being lip balms and sugar scrubs. I have always loved crafts...stamping, scrapbooking, painting....anything to try to pry some creativity out of me. Years later it grew into making skinny tables and rehabbing furniture. Any talent people think I have is not natural. I have gotten inspiration from so many and lear
ned so much and everything I do is trial and error (lots of error along the way lol). I have had people trust me for custom creations and they have been very happy, so if you have an idea, maybe I can create it. I have a FB page with many of my pieces you can check out if you like. I am not a professional and do not claim to be. I like to think of myself sometimes as the queen of putting lipstick on a pig (huge LOL) but others have disagreed. I am just happy when people like what I do. If you like simple or rustic, I'm probably your girl. Hubby made a room in our house for all of my craft stuff (yes, it needed its own room and a 13 x 15 room wasn't really big enough but would do). He is such a good man and I am so lucky to have him. I wouldn't be where I am today if he didn't put the hard work into making and finishing a room for me. When I began to make the tables and collect my own tools (I became more dangerous in Home Depot than he was), he started calling the craft room my "She Shop" and that is where the name came from. My skinny tables really took off and soon my hobby became a job and I got burned out. I was also really outgrowing my little "shop" and put the kibosh on orders for tables. After a few year hiatus, I started to miss the shop and building things again. I began to daydream of things to build or ideas to create but no longer had the space I needed. Finally, I was able to buy a shed and convert it into a real shop and I officially became "The She Shop". I love it so much and even if I am not making anything, I could just sit in there surrounded by all of the tools and sawdust and be in heaven. All because of hubby.
