🎉🌞 KKITK IS BACK! 🌞🎉

After a 2-year hiatus, Kids Kooking in the Kitchen (KKITK) is officially returning to MS KICK, and we're ready for a summer full of fun, food, and unforgettable memories!

At MS KICK, WE LOVE THE KIDS, and we're excited to once again open our kitchen doors to the next generation of chefs, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

This summer, we're taking it back to the days of riding bikes until the streetlights came on, cassette tapes, boomboxes, and neighborhood adventures with our theme:

"We Been Outside!" - Retro Summer Fun
Inspired by the carefree summers of the 80s & 90s!

Participants will enjoy hands-on culinary experiences, learn from local chefs, build kitchen confidence, make new friends, and create delicious dishes in a professional commercial kitchen environment.

🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

👥 Ages: 13-17

🔥 What a time at the “Volunteers for Youth Justice” Chef Cook Off Battle‼️

We had an awesome day with Volunteers for Youth Justice and the Huntington High School Raider Court & Leadership Academy as students stepped into the kitchen ready to compete, create, and shine! ✨

From Hot Cheetos to Dark Chocolate, each team received mystery basket ingredients plus one surprise challenge item that pushed them to think outside the box and get creative under pressure‼️

One of the highlights of the day was having their High School Principal, Mr. Christopher Hill, serve as one of the judges, cheering the students on while tasting every flavorful creation!

The kids enjoyed it.
The staff & guests enjoyed it.
The judges definitely enjoyed it. 😄

Most importantly, another phenomenal event centered around mentoring, teamwork, leadership, and pouring into our youth was a huge success. Watching these students problem solve, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life in the kitchen was everything. 💛

We wrapped up the week in the best way possible…..with a flavorful Chef Demo at Shreveport Green Urban Farm, right on Sprague Street (just one block down from MS KICK! )

There’s something special about stepping outside the kitchen and into the garden, where the ingredients actually begin their story. From fresh herbs to vibrant veggies, it was all about celebrating that full-circle, farm-to-table connection 🌿🍽️

Big love to our partners at Shreveport Green for creating a space where community, sustainability, and food come together so beautifully. And shoutout to everyone who came out, learned something new and to support the Urban Farm.
