Another cohort finished Crochet II last week! Apparently, one of the pups at home was a “bit” overstimulated by Edie’s Seed Stitch Pillow…good thing it was after submission to WEKP!

My heaviest stitching forecast is for Sunday afternoon. Interruptions to move the cars when we are getting dug out. Monday is a wild card.

Happy Saint Distaff Day! Today is traditionally the end of the 12 days of Christmas. In medieval England, it was the day women went back to work, while men returned to field work on the Monday (called Plough Monday) immediately after St. Distaff's day.

St. Distaff never really existed. She was a joke, made up by women as an unofficial medieval holiday. A distaff is a tool used by spinners to support extra fibres, usually flax or wool, as they work with their spinning wheels, as you can see in this medieval manuscript.

I’ve worked on this on and off since 2023. It’s the kind of pattern you can pick up and put down. I was hoping to finish this as the last FO 2025, but I didn’t quite make it. Now it’s the first FO of 2026! I went with three strips of motifs after decided that five was gonna be wider than I wanted. I’m still deciding if it needs a tassel(s). I don’t want the fringe in the original pattern.
