“Design is intelligence made visible.” I believe in education that is tangible, real, visible, and exciting. I remember and miss the days that I was able to create meaningful lessons for the students I served to help them accomplish their dreams… and many of them are and I’m so proud.
I had taught a semester of interior design to a group of high school students who designed their dream home. So much was part of the year long course but our favorite time of all was sourcing!! We visited the and many other show rooms where they dove into samples and created their mood boards. I loved seeing their style evolve and ultimately being their guiding hand throughout the process. And when you saw the projects that these students created, it was just MAGIC! Many of the photos of the final results were deleted from the server when I left but those memories will forever be engrained in my mind and heart.
