Some days just feel like too much. Where do you go to ground yourself?

For me when I can’t even paint, I go to the garden or the campfire.

Tonight, for the first fire of the spring season, I’m cheered back to life by the spring peepers, the Canada geese honking, and the crackling of the wee fire.

I already feel like I can breathe again.

I've heard from people recently who deeply miss their time living here in Vermont. I understand that. It's why I live here ~ I can't imagine living anywhere else. And, I believe Vermont, or anyplace we once loved, can also be a trap.

Even if we went back to that beloved place now, it would never be or feel the same. Because we're longing for something we once had - the best memories we cherish. The truth is, that moment has passed.

So now, we have only one decision to make. Will we bring the best of ourselves into this present moment? or not? That's it. That's all we get.

So, if we loved that place, and those times (leaving aside that we can't go back and be younger again!) is there one thing, or feeling, or activity, or emotion, that we loved so much in that place, that we're willing to commit ourselves to re-creating it here, now, where we are?

Can we be the ambassador of that quality, to our new place? After all, we're the one that lived it! Maybe we're the perfect person, and maybe now is the perfect time, to bring that to our new friends, our new neighbors, our new life. Can you show them how? Can you be the seed?

Do you most love nights when our moon is out? Or do you prefer the super dark no-moon nights, so you can see stars and planets better?

I love it both ways ~

I have always loved the moon's company. I remember times as a teen, struggling through something and taking a walk at night out in fields where we lived, after it snowed, and the full moon lit the entire field up like daylight, and that moon was like a companion I could cry and yell to, and not feel so alone.

And then, especially on nights with meteor showers, it's so great when the moon is in a dark phase, so the sky is blacker than black, and seems to reach out forever, and every planet and star seems to be so close you can reach out and pluck it!

I created a few of these sun/moon paintings this past week. Folks on my mailing list got first dibs to sn**ch them up at a super budget price. (I always love to give the folk on my list the best deal on everything and first chance at everything)

I got a Canvas Lamp for Christmas, and it holds my phone right above my artwork, leaving my hands free to paint, shining great light down on my desk, and making the photos and video shots so easy and clear.

At some point I will get an affiliate link together, so that if you buy one from my recommendation, I make a buck or two from them. But I just want you to know about it, so this is just a heads up because I love it so much.
